You're lucky they didn't make you put the whole $30K down. They probably wouldn't have been able to sell it if you bailed. Looks good, but you gotta have big ***** to pick a bright green Benz.

Have you *ever* seen another Citron on the road?

There's another citron coupe down here in San Diego, close to where I live.
and saw yet another one [citron coupe] in Orange County last week.

Dave, If you haven't ordered your car yet, I would recommend going for the '05 COMAND. It's on the new MOST set up, and much better from what I am hearing than the older DB2 COMANDs.

Here are my opinions on the other options, after already going through these decisions with someone else:

lighting package: yes. The new clear halogens look good too, but I still like the projector look better. Most on the lot are halogens.

Sunroof package: nice, includes a lot of other options

power seat: it's nice to have the controls on the door and the memory, but if you don't move your seat around a lot, it might not be necessary

entertainment package: Depends on if you're an audiophile. Check it out for yourself if the sound difference and cd changer is worth it to you. Seems to be a popular option.

split down seats: depends on your needs

Stealership

:p
I love that word ("stearlership"). It's funny. "Salesmonkey" is funny too.

Thanks for all of the replies folks. There is nothing really special about my order except I simply want a 6-speed. The other fact is there are not many Granite Grey 230's around the Bay Area where I live. Plus that color in the direct sunlight is georgeous. I just got the feeling I was not worthy since I was ordering a "low-end" car from the Mercedes lineup. I do have something in the works now with Mercedes of San Francisco and Smythe European in San Jose. If anyone has dealt with either of these two dealerships please let me know about your experience.

sweet! I don't think I've even seen that color yet... well, down here, anway. IT's like they're all black, silver, white, blue... Of all the times I've been to the stealer, I've only seen *2 cars* that were black opal, one C230 SS in the showroom, and an E55 AMG upstairs in the garage... so at least I know it'll stand out a lil'bit ^_^

its worth the wait. i waited nearly 3 months. just remember, you get all the options you want. you dont compromise for anything, the car is built for you and when delivered, no one sat in it, touched around, test drove it, its all YOU!!! just do it. I'm going to SPC order mine again next time around. plus granite gray is hot. i'd consider that color next time.

Nice post Citron. I am not going to compromise. One, it is my very first Mercedes and Second, eventhough I just turned 25, I have never had a brand new car. Also knowing the car is made for me and it hasn't been test driven by anyone is nice to. I just got off the phone with Mercedes of San Francisco and the female dealer there has already scheduled me a test drive through SF's Presedio and MB of SF only wants $1,000 down to secure the order. What a difference in experience with a new dealership.

this is my 3rd MB, but my 1st brand new one. though this was my 3rd brand new car. i bought this car when i was 26 and by far the best buying experience i ever had. i ordered my MB, and agonized thru the wait, but when it arrived it was all worth it.

Your going to be tortured during those 3 months, Might as well ask the doc to sedate you for the next 90 days.

Can you believe that the old MB dealership I was dealing with wouldn't give me a loaner car cause of my age at that time, of 20. LOL They said you had to be atleast 26, which I find that hard to believe.

Just test drive a new benz every day... you'll be tired of them by the time your car comes. LOL
