Exclamation C55 exhaust on C32 AMG!

Work is needed for sure!.... (due to the tirewell, blah, blah) ... All are OEM AMG parts. Good news is that the new exhaust is a direct bolt on though

I will be posting pictures of the final finished product soon

From what Wiedermann said before, it's extra work to add the C55-style quad exhaust to a C320 because the spare wheel well is not centered in the C320. Meaning he had to replace practically the entire trunk to make space for the right-hand dual-exhast to fit.

The spare tire well is ONE piece that is replaced with the C55 spare tire well. What "adds" up to the work, is the labor required to replace the spare tire wells, then new spare tire, tools, etc ARE needed (as the C32 spare tire will not fit in the C55 spare tire well, the tools carrier from the C55 are also a slighty diff, all those things add to the cost of the retrofit. Provided the spare tire well work is done, the C55 exhaust itself is a direct "bolt on" using the existing juntions in the W203 chassis.
(in the picture below look at the spare tire well (marked by the code "250")

Thanks!... like Mr Sunman said once, mostly --if not all-- all mods are possible... the question is if you are willing to afford the expense . On that last sentence, even Mr Sunman agreed with me, there are some mods that neither him nor I would touch... some of those, but no limited to, listed in no particular order:

-Gullwind style doors (must be ordered with the car... however some body shops will do the retro fit)
-Hydraulic suspenssion (self leveling)
(in within some others)

Quad-tips would be number 1 on my mod wishlist. But right now I don't have the ***** (or money) like Wiedermann to do it.

Don't worry man, I am the No. 1 chicken when it comes to mods...lol... by the time I get to do something, I have spent so much time checking and re-checking part number list(s), costs, timing, shipping, etc, etc, etc that is not even funny!...

I say, the biggest hump is to come up with the green, then the rest is "down hill" (provided that you did your research )

Cheers!

Damn! all that work for a quad exhaust! :p You probably could have just bought a C55 from the parts + labor!

Couldn't find it in the paper catalog and their search engine didn't find it either. Do you have a part number for it so I can see it ?

If not I'd like to get a stock 2005 wide chromed tip and somehow add it to mine. It would then be diferent from all the rest and isn't that what we basically look for ? Instead of double tips, single tips on both sides, even if they don't work. Just thinking out loud...

oh man, I'm just starting, so it's going to be a while. I'm doing the lay-away plan with Dr. Sunil as well... and remember I'm doing it on 2 cars, so that's just going to make it "swell"

First off, ordering 2 Switch Rows, with the full 8 buttons.
Then 2 sets of Euro Rubbing Strips w/ PTS (Brill Silver-Coupe & Metallic Pewter-Sedan) from Steve.
Then start working slowly with harnesses, sensors, washers & clips, dash vent & dial (x2), displays (x4), and control unit (x2).

I'm probably not going to have this done til early next Spring '05.
Thinking of flying the good doctor from Houston, whenever he's available to help me with the install. Maybe we can plan this way ahead of time, and coordinate with you and Mr. Wiedermann to see what other MODS are on the works during that time, and have one big install party !! Whaddayathink?

My current in-progress MOD is the C32 AMG exhaust, so that's where all my focus is on,
until Steve gets here next week or two, and then it's EURO COMAND, auto-dimming convex Euro mirrors, Bi-Xenons (finally), and '05 fog-lights.

oh damn, two cars! wow! hey once i get mine installed if you need help with the install let me know, id be more than happy to help out! i too have the full 8 buttons for my switch rows. are you going with heated seats or CLK heated/vented seats.

in spring og 05 ill be in the middle of CLK seats retrofit.

after i finish those, im upgrading my COMAND to US with SAT button orEuro (only if i can get SAT features out of it). then ill be getting MB Sirius installed. after that i think ill be pretty much finished. well no that's a lie, because distronic will be in my future. i know when i have nothing left, i have that to do!

oh yeah, ill show up early on Oct. 2 to chat with you during your install. mine is scheduled for 6pm the same day. are you doing COMAND, convex mirrors and BIX w/ fogs on just your car or both C320's?

not sure about the heated vs CLK heated/vented seats yet... I don't even want to think about it right now. For now, just having the buttons in will drive me crazy, looking at them every day !!

thanks for the offer... you know me, I'm sure I'll be buying people dinner for weeks for helping me out with wiring installations !! Bring your Bro along too !

oh yeah, I checked on my EURO COMAND print-out, and couldn't find the thing about SAT on it. I know I saw it somewhere, but just can't find it. That's one thing we will have to ask Steve about next week. I've got a huge list of questions for Steve, he's going to either hate me, think I'm crazy, or both !

I didn't realize the sked was out already.... better check my e-mail.
Ya, come over early. I want to take pics of all the installs, cause I know I'll be doing some of those later on. All that stuff is just for my car.
Eventually, the little woman is going to want all that stuff on her car too, I just know it ! Should of bought her a Volvo !

yeah id like to find out before i decide. id like Euro COMAND for the RDS feature. but if i cant get SAT then US COMAND is what ill stick with. i fugure i can sell my current COMAND for about $300 - $400 i would think. that will help offset the cost of a new COMAND. i will bring my bro along if we help out with your install. he's going to be helping me with mine. sunil sent me the WIS info and all that. when i start the project ill be taking lots of pics and posting them. also sunil said he'll talk me thru things if need be. once i get my strips painted ill install the main wiring harness and sensors. my impact strips arent getting painted from the factory, they dont paint citron anymore. oh well.

Citron, You would be able to get rid of your command for alot more the 300-400 dollars. I sold my command for $900 and alot more people were asking me to sell it to them. If you would like I have a friend who is looking for a commmand. I am sure he will offer you more than 400 dollars for your command. :-) Just lookin out for ya...
