I mean, don't really care about getting that stuff....its just the principle of offering it and getting some kind of respect. Its not like I'm buying some cheap Ford Focus or something. Didn't even offer us a bottle of H20.
Its a love hate relationship....
Love the car, HATE the dealer!
lol wow, you guys must have awful dealers. mine even has free food and coffee and stuff in their lounges, one in sales building, one in service, service has free donuts and pastries and coffee all day.
edit: i forgot about free carwashes at both sales and service
Purchased my car 1 week ago today from Smythe and my girlfriend couldn't even get a keychain from them! We were working with an internet salesman that didn't even seem care about the sale. Told us his internet sales manager was gonna get most of the commission. My GF was so ticked off at the salesman she almost got me to leave. But I couldn't leave the deal I was getting! Maybe thats why I didn't get a crummy keychain that was worth 2 bucks. When we finished all the paperwork my GF asked for the keychain for all the hassle we went through ( we were in their for almost 3 hours!) and all the salesman did was smirk and say he had to ask his manager! I was so fed up I just wanted to leave and didn't care. Crossing my fingers for something in the mail over the next month but am definately not counting on it.
You guys say you all recieved your gifts a month or two after you bought your cars right? Seems to me Smythe are some cheap people.
When my parents bought their E-Class Mercedes years ago, we received horrible customer service from them. Some Russian lady, who is I believe was one of their top sales person, was all about closing the deal. Even the finance guy was sooo rude. My wife and I had to speak up and request to speak to the manager. That dealership is all about quantity and not about quality. After I expressed my frustration on behalf of my parents, the dealership showered my parents with gift and with apologies. Flowers, key chains, umbrella and a few other things. I made sure not to buy my MB from them.
It's funny how Smtyhe does a huge advertising at Valley Fair Mall by putting their stickers on the kiddie rental strollers.

I got a big MB keychain that I keep my spare key on, and the leather MB folio you guys are talking about. However, the funniest gift came for our ML we bought 5 years ago. They gave us this cute little blue ML plush that velcros around the seat belt so you can use it as a headrest while you're sleeping, probably for my little sister, who was with us at the time.
Also, I just recently got a promo mechanical pencil for the new MLs for 2006. I'm wondering if that's a promo they extend to all MB owners.
