By auto.t-online... Expected early in 2004, engines: 1.6L(105HP) 1.8L(115) 2.0L(240HP), 1150kg, 16000 Euros...

I think simply because they are going to offer it in convertible form is going to make this a hotter car than the MB...

just my 2 cents...

At the price points mentioned in the article, I think the 1-series will probably compete more with VW (Golf and Cab).

C230 C-Coupe
In Europe this car will be priced lower than the Ford Focus.

The 325ci is competetion for the Coupe. The 1 series is going to be placed in the super mini market. I don't think there are any Super Minis in the US, so it is unlikeley this car will be out here.

Not until gas prices go sky high and SUVs are taken off the road for safety reasons will the US be able to accomodate a car like this.

I'll get one the minute it hits the US shores... It sure competes with Miata etc. but having a 240HP convertible like that must be pure fun... As for styling - just wait and see how it grows on people... I see some common elements with the new 7-er... Which I happen to like
