Suspension

I just purchased a 2005 c240 4matic wagon looking to change the suspension and lower it , any suggestions
would like to go with kw2s but are not available for all wheel drive even tho the website states it , but spoke to them today and they confirmed it wont
fit any rwd
My second option was H&R lowering springs but would only give me 1.6 to 1.5 drop no super sport available for this car
since I’m gonna change the shocks and struds I was hoping to find another option if anyone has done a wagon let me know what setup
your their running and any other front suspension Maintenance recommended service thx

The problem is the 4matic front suspension, steering and brakes is completely different from the RWD. They have nothing in common. 4matics were such a small % of the production run that nobody really supports it.

Car looks great with those ///AMG wheels - when I ordered my car - MBUSA wouldn’t let me bring in (so I was told) a sport wagon, or shooting brake - even though I brought sales litterateur from Stuttgart and Bonn to my dealer here in New York…Love the wagon, wanted it manual transmission too…but I agree with above…Not easy to modify, and by no means “easy” to Sport-ify here in USA. Good luck!

Thx man appreciate it , still doing some research before I pull the trigger on coilovers or lowering springs . The 3 inch gap in the front is
killing me

Thst gap was typical for all W203 wagons sold in the USA and Canada. MBUSA didn't put any of the fun suspensions, steering or brake parts on the wagon. Then they were all surprised when nobody bought it.
On my RWD C320 wagon I was able to swap C230 sport struts and springs, E500 brakes, C55 sway bars, CLK550 steering rack. It transformed the car.

stock wagon ride height

C230 sport struts left, wagon right

After

Always loved the wagon - This is some of the literature I brought back from Bonn and Stuttgart to my NY dealer and asked for…I showed them the sport wagons and ///AMG wagons and they just said basically “nope”…not going to happen with MBUSA…Maybe I should have tried to import one…

NICE much better ,so you used c230 sports struts in the front that’s crazy every website I went on to inquire said they would not fit because of the 4matic
I had called kW for coilovers and told me they have ones for sports c230 but not c240 wagon . Was it bolt on no issues perfect fit?
I haven’t ordered anything yet painted my calipers yesterday and notice my back brake line was leaking ,so had to order a repair line kit
that’s gonna be fun to fix

Because my wagon is RWD. None of the RWD front suspension parts are compatible with a 4matic.

ok I see that makes sense I was wondering but yeah man gonna have some fun with this one wish I could get my hands on a c43 or c55 estate but nun in the states so this baby
will have to do for now
once I finish up with suspension I will also change lower control arms and out tie rods brake pads are good
upgrading the radio to a android with the decoder to bypass amplifier (harman kardon )
lights I buffed out came out better but still mite order a new set
fresh oil and fluids
and a nice deep detail
Anything you recommend as far as maintenance that these wagons suffer from

My plan is to find a crashed CLK500 and swap everything over. The whole front end bolts on (bumper, fenders, hood, dash board) and built a C500 wagon. So far I'm very happy with the way this car handles but a CLK front clip on a wagon would look quite nice.

yeah that would look great but you could get the same look from a c230 sports ez to find and I’m sure i5 less expensive bolt on
the clk front or c55 front is 5 inches long and lights are different those are my plans as well and a few tasteful mods

The hatchback? No it's a different front end. Besides no V8. The CLK500 and CLK55 share the same front end.
