I've been looking for a solution to play mp3 on my preupgrade C200K and the best I've found to date is a chinese portable GPS unit that plays everything, transmits to FM and sits in the front ashtray compartment beneath the CD player. I like the look of the stock Becker AUDIO10CD with the steering wheel controls and do not want to replace it.
Upgrading to MOST or COMMAND systems is extremely expensive I think.

The 05+ units should be a MOST fiber ring, not D2B fiber, therefore...no, not interchangable. 05+ DVD based navigation and MOST. 04- D2B and CD based navigation.

Thank you for the op and those contributed to this thread, i went to the dealer today, bought the cable and installed! Very easy install, and i was searching like crazy for 'kits' that were hundreds to have an ipod/auxiliary connection in my car. Im glad i saw this.
BTW, the part number has changed to (A 210 440 50 05). I gave the dealer the number posted in the original post and they cross referenced it and got it anyways. Thanks again!!!

In case anyone is still wondering on installing this, here's my install tips:
I purchased 210 440 50 05 at my dealer for $37 + tax.
The white plug was right where it was supposed to be, attached to a couple other plugs.
The door sill pulls up with clips.
The door rubber pulls up.
The kick panel has a screw in the middle and has a couple of yellow clips that hold it to the metal frame - I pried the clips from the frame, not from the plastic panel.
I did not need to remove the glove box side panel because I was not going to mount the cable there (useless IMO).
I removed the plastic square inside the bottom center console storage compartment to feed the line through.
I ended up installing a 6ft radio shack 1/8" M/M cable in the same exact style that he center console storage wiring is set up. Drilled a hole through the "removable" triangle found in the top center console pocket. There were only 3 screws I believe to get access under there. Squeezed out the cable down the center console (to the carpet) and pushed it up underneath the passenger center console all the way up to the front dash area. I routed the Aux cable behind the carpet in the footwell, yet the Aux + 3.5mm cable were in an area that would not be able to be tucked under the dash due to the bulkiness of the Aux cable head. Headed back to radio shack to pick up an additional 1ft cable and F/F connector so they would be down farther enough (towards the firewall) where they could be tucked underneath the dash and footwell. Everything can be tucked away and hidden from view.
With my Ipod Nano 4G, and the volume all the way up in the settings menu, EQ off, and volume all the way up on the song, I think it sounds excellent. Just a bit louder than the other sources (until you lower the volume of course). The songs seem to have strong bass too, which the stock sub can seem disappointing at times, so that was a pleasant surprise. Mind you, Ipod EQ was off.
Def nice little upgrade, and my nano now sits just to the right of my hand whie driving.

I have a '07 C280, I can't find the white plug anywhere, I looked around everywhere under the plastic cover by the door and even removed the glove box. The only plug available was a blue one (that didn't match). Has anyone had luck being able to get this done for the '07 C280?
The guy at the dealership mentioned to me that it might be behind the radio, but I wanted to check if anyone has looked there before I go trying to pull out the radio (which I don't even know how to do lol).
I'm pretty confident that the radio has an AUX in somewhere since when I hold the CD Changer button it says AUX INPUT ACTIVE

I had the same issue.
It is not there in the 2007 C280.
There is a posting of how to make your own aux cable and connect it to the pins on the back of the radio.

a car that can't do the throttle reset.
I have tried everything to run the wire from the aux to the center console area and I can't fit the wire anywhere... even after removing the entire front and rear ashtray assemblies, center console, and cupholder areas. Any tips?

Dont pull it... if you actually look at the kick panel there's actually a bolt holding the panel on... you'll either need a star screw or an allen wrench to remove it... I forgot which one it was, I used a star screwdriver I believe, after that you can pull the kick panel off.

I found it easiest to lift the door edge seal around the kick panel, then pry off the two yellow retaining clips that attach the kick panel to the trailing edge of the door opening. Then the panel come off by raising the bottom edge and rocking up and down until it came off rearwards. But be dead sure you removed the torx bolt behind the small access cover in the centre of the kick panel first!
To be honest this was the toughest part of the job for me, but I was very careful and reluctant to force anything. But taking time here did pay off.
BTW, I also found you need to be careful removing the cap from the stereo jack socket, before you push it through the glovebox hole -- it's easy to break the plastic prongs. But it's worth doing this so you can snap the cap back on from inside the glove box and prevent the socket from getting pushed through the hole when you plug in an ipod.
Hope this helps.

Hi all:
I am installing a 6 disc CD Changer in my 02 C240 Elegance. I've found the fiber optic cable but still can't find the power cable. I'd appreciate any insight, tips or ideas of where specifically it might be....
Thanks.

am gonna have the aux jack done tmr by a mechanic, went to al and ed's they quoted me 300 but the mechanic recommended by my dealer is only charging 150. taking into account that im rubbish with DIY technical stuff, is 150 a good or rip off price?
