I too at first found that the volume was low when playing off of an mp3. I was using an iphone 4. What i did, another suggestion,
Was go into iTunes and get the volume adjusted on the actual track. Although yes this is time consuming for whatever tracks don't work, but it's another alternative.

Installed the AUX cable a couple of weeks ago in the 05. Really easy job.
The only downside is that the volume is really low and you need to crank the stereo and/or the unit hooked up to the AUX port way up.
Solved the problem by ordering this Boostaroo 12V amplifier. Installed it today and now the volume is on the same level and no need to fiddle with it while switching between sources.

So ALL 2007 will not support adding the AUX? I have a 2007 CLK350 with 6CDC.
EDIT: I started digging around in my car tonight when I got home from work and I do have the perforated hole in the side of my glove box. I pulled out the door sill and looked at the wires and I think there is a connection but I gotta check again this weekend in the light- didn't want to do too much in the dark.
So, If I have the perforated hole in the glove box, does that mean I can definitely add AUX to my 2007 CLK350?

How many times in this 30 page thread does someone make their first and only post to ask the question that's been answered at least a dozen times? You found the thread; that was the "hard" part. Now just read it. Or your owner's manual.

Hate to bump an old post, but I just installed this part in my 05' C55 and it works great! Thanks OP for the instructions!! The hardest part was getting the screw from the a-panel to go back in but overall it took about 25 minutes.

I have one of these cables that I removed before I traded the car in. $35 shipped to the first person who wants it.
All you need to do is connect the cable to the existing plug. Very easy mod.

2005 C230 Kompressor Sport
Hey guys, so I installed the AUX cable in my 2005 c230 Kompressor, and it works.
The only problem I am having is lots of crackling and static when I switch to AUX Input Active (this happened before the cable extension add-on too).
The crackling and static goes away after about 5-10 minutes.
Has anyone else had this issue and/or know how to fix it before I take it to an audio shop?
Note that it is not the same noise background that the alternator gives off (constant buz, etc).
Thanks!!

I just installed it on my C230 '06 the part # from the dealer was A 210 440 50 05. It was really easy install. Just make sure you unscrew that one bolt on the A pillar and everything comes off easily. Also I found my connector was towards the front behind the pillar not so much on the door sill.

Connector underneath trim missing
Hello, I tried to find this connection today, and I´m positive that it´s not there. I´ve opened the trim both ways up to the point that the wires disappear into the bodywork, and there is no loose connector there.
Anyone with a clue? BTW I did check that it´s not already installed, doh. I would like to wire it to appear in the centre console, and branch it for two connections, is it possible to just plug it into the amp somewhere?

2004 Mercedes-Benz C180 Kompressor
hi all,
i was wondering if this http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Aux-Line-cable-Mercedes-Audio-20-50-04-08-pannello-/120583566004?pt=Monitor_Caricatori_ed_Accessori&ha sh=item1c135732b4 cable would work because i am not forking out $120 at my local benz dealership for a cable. Does the genuine aux. connector have this many pins?

I think you can just use any cable, strip the ends and attach it to harness... You only need the pinouts, and I think someone had posted on the forums somewhere.

How did you wire it all the way from the glove compartment to the middle console? I have this aux connection also but its in my glove box... and having it in the middle will be more convient
