Metal Mesh Lower Grill

Some models, like the C-Class Sport Sedan and the CLK, have a metal mesh lower grill and fog lamp grill.

Are there similar lower grills available for the C Coupe?

It would be nice to eliminate the plastic parts.

Hmm...interesting. I wonder how a silver/chromed lower AMG grille would look on a black '05 230 sedan...

Citron what color was your lower mesh originally, black?

Why? Power to the driver! Passengers are just along for the ride anyway. Unless of course you have gone soft on us and let someone else drive. That would of course imply that your then too lazy to readjust the pasenger seat.

each little triangle on those side mesh pieces were masked off. it was quite a job for the paint shop to do. but if you look at your mesh, those side pieces are solid (for thsoe with 01-04 non AMG).

CITRON has got me hooked on buttons now !

I used to not care about electronic interior mods, but now I'm going crazy with all these darn extra sets of buttons !!

Just installed an SOS button on my overhead light assembly. I messed up the reading lights though. Need someone who knows how to solder to help me out. Nothing broke, just the little strips attached to the green circuit card came off. Dumb me !

All for a dumb button !

dont worry Carlos, im planning on adding the fake SOS button as well. how did you rip off the wiring harness. i took off the interior light cluster to manually shut the pano roof when i disconnected the battery when i installed XM.

btw, buttons are way cool. i would have given you my old headlight switch with the headlamp washer button, but alreay gave it away!

you should order a headlamp swith with the folding mirror button w/ the headlamp washer button included.

yeah, i'm getting the new headlight switch with the Folding Mirror buttons. I'm also going to include the headlight washer button, because I found out that the AMG front bumper comes with the headlight washer covers, and a potential add-on are the actual headlight washers themselves. So it might all work out. Although, given the mess they make, I might just skip it, and leave the covers and button for more ooohhh aaahhh factor !

It wasn't really the wiring harness itself. It's these orange plastic strips that connect the side lights with the green circuit board. It's all posted at this thread, with tons of pictures: Overhead light screw-up !!

I think I did a big BOO-BOO, but maybe fixable, by someone that knows how to solder on circuit cards. When taking out the black cover above the circuit card, I accidentally pulled too hard, and the orange plastic things came off. It seems like they're just barely stuck on there with some sort of adhesive (for electronics ???).

The whole assembly is back in place, and nothing is broken, just the 2 little side lights won't work because they're not connected inside. All the other lights & sunroof buttons work fine !

thanks! im really pleased with how well it turned out. when i asked for opinions on it before i did it they were mixed. i think people though the side ones were going to be all silver. the body shop that did the work spent alot of time masking off every little traingle on the side mesh, where the foglights are. took them 2 1/2 days to paint, mainly because of the prep time.

You're going to get mixed opinions here even if you just ask what color the sun or the moon is !

This forum is nuts sometimes.
