Can someone please tell me what these are?
Hello,
I found these at the bottom engine cover (it is a 2005 C230 Kompressor), I have no clue what these are and where they came from. One piece looks like part of a blower?, looks like it ripped off. Is seems it is part of another assembly and it was connected with screws?
The ring looks like part of a retention structure but may be missing the ears to compress it, they may have broke.
I don't know if I can driver the car without damaging it.
Could you lend me a hand to identify what this is and where it goes? (part number to replace?)
Thank you for your help

I see the word Denso. Leads me to think it's part of the AC compressor.
Just did a quick search online. Looks like the cover for the AC compressor pulley.
The seal o-ring is obviously broken. I'd call the dealer and order a new o-ring, then pop the cover back on.

Indeed it is the cover of the AC compressor. Funny I lost all the Freon !! I wonder if this has something to do with it.
A mechanic told me that the issue is a refrigerant temp sensor... Uh? he said that there is an O ring that is leaking. I looked at it and seems tight (bolted into a solid block of Aluminum)
Freon with a die was loaded to check for leaks and I don't see any color on the temperature sensor.
And now this piece is off, may be that the mechanic misdiagnosed the problem.
Thank you for your help!!

It's not a cover. It's part of the AC compressor pulley. It's designed to fail when your AC compressor locks up. Think of it as a fuse so you can keep driving the car after your AC fails. It's time for a new AC compressor, condenser and dryer.
