Attn: MarcusBenz regarding C230 Kom Sedan

Hey MarcusBenz, I've been dealing with Ray Catena Motor Corporation here in NJ but I'm not getting a good deal. I'm lookin for a C230 Kompressor Sports Sedan with Sunroof, Automatic Transmission, and Sound or Factory Installed CD-Changer ($420 I believe off mbusa.com). I can always put aftermarket Xenons in it.

Anyhoo, what kinda deal can I get on this equipped vehicle? And would it be hard to locate one? I am willing to minus an option here and there to get this great car for a good price. Thanks much!

Question????
Is the price so bad that the cost to ship the car to NJ will offset the lower price? Shipping is about what $1000? Just curious......

Didn't some people from that area of the country post pricing similar to CA pricing?

I remember seeing that also... which is why I posed the question.... to him... I can't make the numbers work in that situation.... If it was a special car like a big buck AMG I could see it.

Don't buy from stealerships, check carsdirect.com and buy online. Best prices, good customer service, no finance people to rip you off.

You still have to go in to pick it up and finalize things. Thats when you hit'em over the head with the discount coupon.

I would be more than happy to assist, but Anaheim_Drew has a valid point. The So. Cal. market is anywhere from $1200 to $1500 below dealer invoice on this car. I am sure that Ray Catena is some where close to invoice, if not below, then shipping the car to you will run about $1095 open and $1395 covered. Now, after you factor in the trucking expense, you are very close to what you will get locally. This all holds true as long as your dealer is close to the invoice or a bit under. If they are more than this number, then it might make a little more economic sense.

MarcusBenz,

you and I both know that shipping it open is out of the question Even if the client signed a waiver.... to much headache due to the long distance... so lets just say $1400.... I don't understand how new cars come from port one open trailers, but once a client buys it and you ship it, the smallest chip, ding or anything and you now have a baby on your hands......(can't blame em though)

I know, but you have to realize that the car from the port will be wrapped in plastic (not that it would stop a chip from happening). Shipping it in an open trailer would not be my method of choice, but since they are up high and behind the truck itself, I see how they do not get damaged that often. In fact, since I have been with HOI, we have had less than 2% of our cars arrive with transportation damage.

I like that new car plastic..look... like little white baby blankets It is also rare to see a car on an open trailer with a cover on it...... We found out why years ago while taking my 66 Nova to a hot rod show in Texas.... Dirt, sand and the elements got under the cover and acted like sandpaper between the two.... Now we have inexpensive enclosed trailers for everything....

Finally the real reason why there is no room in the garage for another Benz. :p

What took you so long to admit it?

If you don't mind a word of advice, I'd say skip the Factory Installed CD and use the $420 towards the $790 factory installed Bi-Xenons. You can always purchase/install this item later on. Heck, you can probably get a better price on one from a forum user or via eBay

Look, if you're a regular forum reader you've heard that the average cost/install for these is ~$1,500.00 AND you have to find a willing dealer to program the on-board computer to accept them (and I've read some sad stories about that!). With the factory installed BiXenons you also get: No dismantling, cool headlight washers, auto light levelers AND A FOUR YEAR WARRANTY (sans the bulbs).

Anyway, good luck and enjoy.

If by any chance there's a car on the lot that meets you specs and price range but does not have the BiXenons, don't forget to factor the $1,500.00 into your process. I've seen many threads in this forum about guys wishing that had ordered/purchased the car with BiXenons but...

Try exotic car transport, they are awesome. They are a closed carrier, and and are very fast. They normally ship italian, english, and german cars, prices are very resonable. They are based in Florida, They ship from Florida to NJ, California. I am not sure if they have a direct Khalifornia to NJ.
