Did you get a Convertible or hardtop?
I had considered that car in the past.
Hard to find one thats been well maitained,
it was the least loved of ferrari's by the hard core
ferrari types, which makes it that much more affordable to
someone wanting an entry level Ferrari as long as it doesn't need
a lot of work straight away. Same drivetrain a a 308, and those are fun cars.

Thanks guys! I formerly had a 1982 308 GTSi and it was a lot of fun. Really sorry I sold it. That car has appreciated quite a bit despite having the least desireable motor.

The Mondial is at the bottom of the depreciation cycle now as I see it. It's probably not going to depreciate anymore and probably is on its way up. The 308 GT/4 (aka Dino) was that way for a long time, and now it's hard to find a clean example for under $25K. (7 years ago, one could be had in the teens.) Mine is a Quattrovalvole, so more horsepower than the 2V cars. Should be fun. Pic attached.

Yeah, with the C230 finally setup mostly the way I want, it's fun to drive. The wider and stickier rubber cured my need for a limited slip differential. Would have loved to have installed the BiX but that money is slated for the Ferrari at this point.

*Get Together Info*
We should definitely do a get together! I've been missing out all summer! Let's try to plan for something or, at the very least, catch up at the next group event!

Looks like one that was on Ebay today...

Anyway, congrats. Minor point of contention though.
I do not believe that the 308 GT4 had anything to do with the
246 Dino or any of the FIAT Dino's. Dino is 6 cyl.
308 GT4 is Bertone bodied 2+2 3.0 L V8, same as the Later Pinnin bodied
308's. It's closer to the Mondial, as the Mondial is the 2+2 Pinnin replacement for the Bertone bodied Gt4 2+2.

While I love much of Bertone's stuff, the Gt4 wasn't the best example of their work. Oddly enough a search on craigslist or Ebay for X19's yields zero, unless you look in UK.

I think you're right about the depreciation cycle.
But getting it serviced won't cost any less, as someone I know found out.

Actually the 1974 version of the 308 GT/4 was called a Dino in honor of Enzo Ferrari's son. Here's a reference:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ferrari_GT4

In 1975, Ferrari rebadged it a Ferrari instead of a Dino (which was what a lot of dealers were doing anyway with the 1974 cars.)

I was watching that car on eBay to see how it would do. That car is Argento (silver) and mine is Grigio (Gray metallic.) Bertone liked the angular designs whereas Pinnin Farina liked more flowing lines. I had a 1981 Fiat X1/9 and liked that little car a lot. I had considered the 308 GT/4 but need the back seat space for my son. The Mondial has more back seat room than the 308 GT/4.

As for service - it depends on where you go. But you'll pay a lot, or you'll pay A LOT MORE for service. Eugenio's Ferrari Service is excellent and usually booked for months in advance. I plan to do most of the work myself but will have Eugenio do a timing belt, tensioner and possibly the water pump.

I think the bi-xenon light modification is worthwhile if you can afford it. But if not, the projector lens and Halogen bulb seem like a good modification to make if reasonably priced.

Ha, I stand corrected.
Never knew there was a Dino badged V8.
Does the Mondail require removing the engine to do the timing belt?
Those early V8's have FIAT stamped on the block.

BTW- I see that set of Bix's on ebay is back.
Guess the bidder backed out?
And of course Advans is already on it...

Question Bi-Xenon Headlights For C230 Sports Coupes On Ebay ? I Want To Do My First Mod Help

I just bought me an 04 C230 sports coupe. This is an amazing car. I see that alot of people mod thier cars so, I would like to begin modding mines also. The first mod I would like to get are the Bi-Xenon Headlights thats on the 05 cars. I happen to see an auction on ebay, and wondering would these fit my car and how would I install them ? Can you help me out please ? Heres the link to the auction.

yes they are plug and play with your coupe. You need to remove the bumper to install the bixenons, there is a do it yourself guide here somewhere. Search and you will find .

Ok so they will fit. Looks like I will be gettin some rare Bi-Xenons at a cheap price then. At my dealer they say they would cost me $2500 for these headlights, not including install. Also what is Xenon Present ?

Well I just got off the phone with the dealership and they told me it would cost me $700 for the install. This is expensive. Is it that difficult to install ? Whats a good price I should pay for an install ?
