05 c230k sedan replace transmission
Hi, I wanted to replace the transmission on my c class, but I'm not sure if I would have to get it program at the dealer or if I can just throw it in and that's It. The car has 193000 miles and the transmission keeps popping out of gear, when that happens I have to stop and reset the transmission and then it works fine for the next couple of days. Thank you

You do not need a new transmission.
I had the exact same problem once, also at a high mileage (~180k km). Turns out it was a leaky pilot bushing. Fluid was getting through the o-rings and up the wiring and making the TCU do weird things, including randomly dropping out of gear. Be sure to get the latest version of the bushing.
After that's been done, you want to clean the TCU and wiring to get rid of excess oil.
