Entertainment Pkg worth it?

Is the Entertainment Pkg worth the price or would settling for the 6-disc changer suffice? How are the speaker levels and sound w/o the Entertainment Pkg?

some people are having problems but the one on my car sounds great and it is pretty powerful. it's 120 watts more than the system on my old car. More power than what I need, really.

i would think so, plus you get the CD changer. im sure the bugs will be worked out, and either way you have a warranty to deal with these issues.

I wasn't planning to get the EtnmPkg, but it was already on the car I wanted, so I ended up with it.

I'm pretty happy with it (except for the trunk button rattle problem, which is fixable, see recent thread), but admittedly never heard the stock audio system.

I am actually finding the 6-CD changer to be more useful than I thought.

Thumbs up Yes, it is - at least for me--

IMO, the sound with the Entertainment Package is what the stock stereo in a MB should sound like in the first place. It's good, but certainly not "out of this world sound" by any means. My 2003 C-Class had the stock stereo and it sucked. I love music and listen to it all the time while driving. Consequently, the upgraded stereo was a must for me this time around. Besides, it includes the changer (which, in all honesty, I hardly use anyway - I'm addicted to satellite radio).

yeah the stock radio in the 2003 MB's suck. the Bose upgrade wasnt much better with Audio30, but is nice with my COMAND. i havent heard a stock 05 head unit yet. i do like the H/K thougjh. sounds like Bose too me though im not an audiophile either.

The sound is actually quite good. I do agree this shouldn't be an upgrade it should just come standard. I would highly recommend the upgrade.

IMO it's worth it. The sound quality of the the HK upgrade does sound better than the stock one. I'm glad that i got the upgrade except for the fact that when you play loud deep bass music (which i often do) the speaker cover/grill rattles or the trunk release button rattles as well.

Some people here have also complained (including me) that the front dash speakers tends to have a mind of its own - meaning it produces static sounds even when playing CDs, (mine went away after restarting the engine). But some have to go to the dealer to have it fixed.

That said, after fixing all the rattle problems that i had (for now), I really like the sound quality of my HK package.

What happened to DiamondNoir2K5 , happened to me also. I wasn't planning on buying my car with that option but the color I wanted already had the Bi-xenons & H/K packages so I got them and I'm glad I did !

I'm not a audio expert but when I crank up the volume all the way up on mine , there is no noticeable distortion and nothing rattles in mine up to now anyways. I don't really use the CD changer either.

The surround part doesn't really make that much of a difference in my car. With it off, it sounds like a normal car with the crossover switching the voices to the front speakers only, and with Surround ON, it sounds like they're pumping the voices into all speakers. Even though it does sound nice, it sounds totally opposite of what the surround does on my Bose system in my home theater.

You're also lucky that nobody told you to UTFS ("Use The F**g Search" button). I got a similar reply when I asked the same question as you did, a month ago Those guys must be mellowing out, thank God !

All in all, I think it's a good choice. I hope you enjoy yours also.

Yes, that I knew, but he said that SAT radio was included and I couldn't find where he got that idea from since there was no word on that in this thread.

The last sentence is what made me think of that. Calm down. Sorry for misinterpreting that then.

No, you got that response because you just HAD to have answer to this question hours, rather minutes before you ordered the car. This was not the case here.

yes, you're absolutely right. I have no life, so I follow you everywhere, and don't care one bit about the H/K package or how it compares to the old BOSE package.

2 useless posts right here with nothing to add to the thread just to make your post count go up, to help your ego or maybe you're writing just to see you name on this thread.

Help the thread with a useful opinion or go away and let us that have the 2005 H/K system give this person an honest opinion, not just posting useless posts.

Now this is funny coming from you. You want to talk post counts & ego. 460 something posts in less than a month that you have been around...quick math says thats 14 post a day and you have the nerve to say "get a life"??..lmao. "Hello pot, meet kettle". No one can help but follow your posts....they are everywhere, back-to-back, 5-8 posts a thread. I'm quite sure those 14 post everyday are filled with valuable knowledge.

I went and checked those posts and at least they are about the threads he posts on. Have you checked the posts of others ? Seems to me all his posts are on topic and suddenly they are now followed by posts from a few of you.
