Roof Rack Thread for W203/S203/CL203 & bike/ski mounts

I have the basic rack and the bike rack for the sedan. It may be the same for the coupe. I will try to find PNs if needed.

It is not supported by the sunroof, it clips to the sides.
See that things that looks like a water drain in the rubber near the rear window?
Well, that's where one of the brackets hooks up.
I was the same as you, concerned about the glass, but if you are careful, things will be fine.
They are about 300 for the racks, then like 200 for each bike carrier from MB, but if you keep your eyes open here on the forum you can pick up one up for much less.
I don't have it handy to get the pn, it's in a storage unit.
As previously stated, look on the MBUSA website, or call a dealer.
I got lucky, was surfing craigslist, for some reason I was looking at the Sac
craigslist and saw a coupe for sale INCLUDING the roof racks.
I contacted her, and ended up getting the racks with 2 bike carriers for
$200 ! A steal. It works very well. It's a pain to install etc. so
I don't actually use it that much, since typically it's easier to fold the seat down and
throw it in the back if it's just one bike, but on a trip, it frees up the back.
The only downside was that I had to drive to Sac to pick it up, about 150 miles away or so.

I hope to find a set like that for my Coupey too.
For some reason here in Germany those things are "hot commodity" and they cost way more than they did in the States. Everyone bikes here, so bike racks (top, back, sides) are quite common on most cars.

I've been keeping my eyes open for a set of racks for years..
and keeping my eyes open for someone without a clue what they sell for...
Daddy bought her the car and the racks....
Hey if I didn't keep my eyes open for deals, I'd never have been able to put my car together.
Everything I have I got used or a super deal.
Got my Remus for 200, Wheels for 400 (with PS2's!), front brakes about 700 with shipping, header for $700, the headlights, tails and blinker well I got those with 600 and sweat equity and my old parts + stuff off ebay.
It pays to keep your eyes open on and off the forum.

Of course, then there's the research, and all the labor involved, and well,
I still have a lot invested.
Everything else was retail, ASP, TEIN's, swaybars, etc. and thats about 3 grand right there...
lots of mooo-la.
My GF got jealous the other day.
Apparently some girls were blowing me kisses at a stoplight, checking me and the car out.
I never saw them...coulda had some fun with the GF.
She waited, strategically till they were gone, to tell me.
She's evil smart that way.

I never looked in to the accessories as a matter of comparison between the Coupe & Sedan, but it makes sense that those would be the same.

I'll look them up and post them here.

The bike carriers and ski/snowboard mounts are sold separately from the basic roof rack.
Check with your MB dealership as part numbers are sometimes superceded.

but like everyone said if you look around, you can probably find it for cheaper..
i put this pic in my thread, but its a good one for this thread. Not a coupe but a sedan with mb rack and bike attachment...
Does anyone know where you can get a replacement set of straps for the Mercedes surfboard carrier? Is there something else that would work just as well? I don't want the boards to be flopping around on the roof.
