I've had cops staring at my front bumper with NO Cali plate (German Euro plate instead), at red lights right in front of me, and not once have they stopped me or cited me. Not even when I got my 95+ mph speeding ticket on the 5.

I guess it was mid-morning donut hour or something.

3 days ago, at one red light, the cop was making a left across the intersection from me. My light turned green first, so I drove slowly past him. He checked out my front Euro plate, and when his light turned green he made a U-Turn and came up right behind me. I figured, this is it, my first "No Front Plate" ticket ! I drove normally, and he never flashed his lights or anything. At the next intersection, I went straight, he turned right.

Not to play the race card.... but he might have notice the plate at first but it was his view of you... in a sweet mbz that made him do a u turn and run your plate... If you had no rear plate, you might have felt the warm hood of his cruiser..........

Shohoku, I feel so sorry for you, it was totally unnecesary for that damn cop to write up so many tickets for such a lille thing like a stop sign, insurance and plates, I hope he burns in hell ! ! !

There, I hope you feel better

But think about what you did, you just might have deserved those tickets

hey drew
first u need to relax and dont get so worked up on this. i dun like to waste my time and go into detail on what happened. if u have the time to sit there and analyze everything, be my guest, but plz dun bother me again drew. i thought i just said dun read or comment on my post if u disagree w/ me. no one is forcing you to read stuff you dont want to read, and this is not your post. not everyone has tat much time like u to analyze everything.

Purpose was to share my citation experience w/ people on this forum, and my opinions on the pigs here in SoCal. I like to hear from other people's no plate situations, and helpful insights w/ the bumper situation. pointless comments like drew's is unnecessary.

anyway, I never had a front plate on my last car for the past 5 yrs that I've been driving, and I was pulled over for it only once at LAX. So u guys make sure ur plates are on when you go to LAX. There r so many cops there w/ the new tightened security.

BTW, those thingies are nylon wire ties.
Inspection people do not give you tickets - cops do; nor do they care for plates (at least around here). Regardless - do you know how strong those wrap ties are? Cops sometimes use them instead of handcuffs. The mesh will certailny be ripped apart if you hit a bump with a place hanging this low.

Step 1 - Cop gives a "fix-it" ticket, for non-conformance to local statute. Step 2 - The vehicle is changed to conform with the statute within the specified time. Step 3 - The vehicle is inspected to verify conformance.

Oh yes, also pay the associated fine.

in so cali, cop gives fix-it ticket, then you go to the police station to get it signed off usually by a police office once the item has been fixed.

Thanks for educating me on that - but I doubt I will ever use this knowledge as I prefer to comply with the laws. Insisting on doing otherwise (and bragging about it) is plain stupid.
