Who said this...?

I don't remember who said what about brake pad sensors earlier in this forum. I just went in this morning to replace my brake pads (finally after two years of the warning light being on) and, to my belief, there is two sensors. One in the driver's front and one in the passenger's front. From what I can remember reading here in the forum, someone said there was only one. I only bought one sensor after I read that in the forum awhile ago.

Fast forward to this morning, the service guy showed me my current sensors and place where the new ones go. I may be wrong, but this is news to me.

Can anyone else remember someone saying that was only one sensor indicating brake pad wearing? By the way, I have a 2001 C240.

anyway, when I got my AMG C32 Brembo brakes in a holographed-sealed Mercedes-Benz parts box, there was a pad sensor in each box, which led me to believe that one sensor went into each side. They were installed that way, and it kinda makes sense, (although unlikely) because how would you know if one side wore faster than the other and needed replacement ?

Its possible if the caliper on one side gets stuck that one sides pads will wear significantly faster than the others... Although the chances of that happening is low and you most likely would notice the noise...

I think that the later models only have once sensor.

I replaced the factory pads with Porterfields the same day I took delivery of my '04 C240. It only had one sensor at the fromt passenger side.

2 years? how could you even look at a light for 2 years? did you not get the car serviced at all in 2 years? thats crazy. Your going to have to cut a hole in the floor and start stoping like Fred Flinstone.

HaHa, I was sick and didn't drive much. I just changed the screen to the speed I would be going or to the radio station. Two pushes and the error wasn't up anymore.
