Not sure exactly

I've had problems like that due to various issues, from fuel pump at 200k,
bad replacement MAF, ABS sensor in one wheel...or once my alternator seized and engine would barely turn.
But that was rebuilt alternator, so oh well and it had 100K + miles on it.
so..any other clues?
If you have some sort of problem in the steering column, you might also have issues with clocksping
steering angle sensor? Try cranking the steering wheel lock to lock 3 times, turn of and restart.
But likely you'd have ABS or ESP error on dash and it never effected the speed of the engine.
Also do the throttle reset, poke around here, you'll find it. Something like push the pedal down, put key in turn to
(1st or is it 2nd position?) hold for 5 seconds take key out with foot still on throttle. and then release. Wait one minute and start....
not sure if that's exact. iCarsoft or other Mercedes scanner can give you details on any or all of these EXCEPT fuel pump,
which on my car threw no codes. You can test pressure with meter you can get on loan at most autoparts stores ie Oreily
Autozone. Fuel filter ever been replaced? Could be clumps of crud in there ? Had that happen on a FIAT once.
Sat for a long time, gas tank got crudded up. Sputtering and running rough. and not running up in the rpms.
