W203 03 C200K rear suspension shudder when braking
Better half’s car now. I drove it for first 5 yrs. Now has clocked up 400,000kl. Been a gr8 car for sure.
So the issue: Rear suspension shudder occurs when braking mainly when driven down a long hill with the brakes applied reasonably gently to slow the vehicle. If brake hard it does not shudder.
It does not come through the steering. And now I take careful note, nor though the brake pedal (so was not rotors in the first place).
Okay, so at first I was sure it was the rotors. So got them both machined and checked. One was very slightly out.
But shudder is still there.
Searched web and forums. Tried a few suggestions without success.
I jacked each wheel and checked for any play. Tried rocking the wheels laterally and vertically. No movement.
Climbed under and twisted and wrenched, then with a bar and pushed on things, nothing obvious.
So now I'm at a loss and need some more specific suggestions please.
Many thanks...
