Year 2005 W203 install android head unit with decoder no sound
Hello all,
My year 2005 W203 install an Android head unit and keep original amplifier, but there is no sound from speakers. Attached files are all installed photos. I have tested 3 MOST decoders from Avin LLC and one Teclink MOST decoder and they are all fails.
1. 12v (+) constant (blue / red wire) and 12v (-) ground (brown wire) : from OEM radio connector.
2. ACC : from cigareet lighter (black / yellow) wire.
3. MOST decoder 12v power and ACC are from OEM connector.
4. MOST decoder (red / white) RCA connectors connect with Android head unit Front out (red / white) RCA connector.
Do I miss something during the installation?

I am assuming that you have the Harman Kardon system in your car. My car doesn’t have that system so I don’t have direct experience.
However, in the non HK system in my car I had to connect an interface to the CAN bus to integrate the steering wheel controls. This leads me to speculate that the OEM system sends a signal over the CAN bus to the HK amplifier that tells it to turn on. If your new head unit isn’t connected to the CAN bus, that may be the reason the amplifier isn’t turning on and you don’t have sound. I suggest that you search the instructions for your unit to see whether there is a reference to a connection to the high and low CAN bus wires. That may help lead to a solution.
Good luck.

When I purchase the head unit, it comes with Can Bus and Y type wire. The Y type wire connects with head unit, can bus and female connector (12V power input, Can_B low, Can_B high .......... ).. The steering wheel can control sound volume and it works fine. The problem is no sound from the speakers.
Thank you
Thank you

This thread has some suggestions.
I also suggest that you search this forum using the term "Android." There are quite a few posts that suggest similar problems. I have seen some threads that indicate there are quality problems with the non-name brand Android systems that you can buy for around $300 or less on several websites. It is possible that you have a defective head unit.
Good luck.
