2005 C240 4-Matic .No crank , no start after trying to replace License lamp bulb
So guys , today decided to try and do the simple fixes on the C240 , replace the bulb , i got the sylvania 6418LL , checked to see it the light was working it was . But after putting that specific bulb into the left lamp where the bulb was blown , All power coming to the car , but won’t crank, won’t start . Got it towed home and ran my brother’s computer and a bunch or codes came up . contacted the previous owner and him and his dad are thinking the bulb caused a short circuit somewhere . ECM is normal . TCS , ESM, ESP , and SRS all showing issues communicating with the CAN Bus in one way or another … all from this fckn bulb ! Help . Literally had NO issues whatsoever prior to this attempt to change this bulb. The Previous owner told me he specifically hadn’t changed it yet because he never had the time to look for the genuine Mercedes Bulb that originally came with the car. That is messed up. There's no way a bulb would cause that? Conventional incandescent bulbs have resistances. Also a "genuine" MB bulb is basically a Sylvania or Osram or GE.
Think VERY carefully. Did you do anything to the electrical system before touching the bulb?

nope , 1,000 percent positive i didn’t do anything besides change the left license plate lamp bulb , the previous owner and his dad are coming to look at it tomorrow, his dad was a master tech for mercedes
Got the Tech to come and check out the car , came with the computer and xentry software, his conclusion is one of three things, the automatic start is interfering with something, a wire got knocked loose , or worse case scenario it’s the ignition which he told me the dealership would have to replace / repair, so he’s coming back next saturday morning to take the dash apart and check the wires to the ignition and automatic start pray it’s a simple wire issue and fix
