Door Handle Paint & Removal
Also show's partial pics of the installation process. The weather strip has to be removed, for you to access the insertion point for the TORX screw that holds the door handle in place.
CAUTION: Do NOT let go of the screwdriver when you have loosened the screw, and the door handle comes off. Letting go of the screwdriver, will cause the screw to fall inside the door itself. Only way to retrieve it is to take apart the door panel, (another hour or two of labor) and remove door padding (impossible to replace yourself, unless you're a body-work expert).
You might get lucky and use a magnetic snake to fish out the screw.
Anyway, that's the caution I received, and used the "taping" method pictured on the screwdriver to keep it in place. That worked just fine on both sides, and kept the screw in position, when I reinstalled the new (driver's side) or newly painted (passenger's side) door handles.
Good luck. Search the FORUM for quite a few postings on this installation/removal procedure. That's how I learned how to do it.

I do admit there is a slight shade difference, but only perceivable from a certain angle and at a certain level of light. 99% of the time I try to find that subltle difference, I can't find it.
As far as chipping goes, if the area to be painted is properly prepped and cleaned, and the paint is applied properly at the right temperature, distance, and coating, then it shouldn't be a problem. I've yet to notice any irregularities or chips on my paint job. Then again, that part of the door handle is seldom (never) touched unlike the actual main door handle, so that may be an issue if excessive use of a door handle will cause paint chips on a re-painted surface.
Again, see link to thread posted above. It also includes the Part #'s to the different pieces, if you wish to purchase them like I did, instead of painting them all.

Best way to keep it in place, is to: "keep it in place" with the screwdriver pushing against it, the entire time your swapping out the handles. Look at the way I and others taped the Torx screwdriver against the door. It is leveraged so that it remains tight against the screw and held in place by the angles of the tape job. When I did mine, the screwdriver was so tightly taped in place, that that screw wasn't going anywhere. I didn't have to hold it, by leveraging it against the car's body (see reddish rag in picture, that's preventing Torx screwdriver from scratching car, but holding screw in place).
Or as BrabusCcoupe has already suggested, have another person there to help you, and hold it in place.
It's not that difficult. I was a bit hesitant too, when I did it, because I'm not mechanically inclined whatsoever (Doug & Donnie can attest to that
). But it did really turn out easy, if you follow the instructions to the letter. 20FHK02's INSTRUCTIONS

This is now the 3RD major posting on door handle removal / painting / installation procedures.
Hopefully, all of the information you are looking for can be found on this thread, and the other 2 threads LINKED above.
If your question is still not answered, I'll be happy to help.

Did you get your AMG coupe exhaust yet? I bet you cant wait to install.
You have the aero wipers on your car, right? Where did you purchase and how much?
Thank you for your time.
Take care.

AMG Coupe exhaust is still being resourced in Germany. It might take a few more weeks, but I've waited sooooooo long, that it's not bugging me that much right now. Hopefully have it installed and roaring by the end of the year.
Yup, the Aero Wipers are Mercedes-Benz OEM 2004. I got them through AUTOWERKS in S.D., who in turn get them at dirt-cheap wholesale prices from MBSD. Can't remember right now how much exactly, but it wasn't much.

Speaking of Brabus, they've got some really good Brabus stuff for the Coupé. If I wasn't going the AMG route, I would look into Brabus or Carlsson body kits and wheels.
