a few minor issues/questions

Hey I just got my C230 Sedan today, with the following options:

Black on Charcoal black
Automatic Tranny
Sunroof
Garage door opener
Rain-sensing wipers
Bi-Xenon package

I have a few issues, and was wondering if this is normal.

1- Even in the off position, my xenons stay on! The minute I start the car, they stay on. It's the same in auto mode. I have a Canadian car, and I also have DRL's, but isn't it unsafe to have the xenons on all the time?

2- Today was the date of delivery, and it was raining very hard, so I see some moisture in the xenon headlamp housing as well as fog light housing. Is this normal?

3- When I unlock the car, all lights flash...When I lock it, no lights flash. Is this a setting, or is this the way it is? Any help would be appreciated with these questions. Thanks

Wat's DRL?? With regard with your xenon lights on all the time, check your setting on MFD (multi function display, use the button on steering wheel to access it) whether your lamp circuit is constant or manual, if constant then yes it would on all the time.
Not sure about the moisture, but it happen to my girlfriend's porsche when it was raining and car still brand new.
As far as i remember, there is some sort of setting with the alarm mode (norwegian, etc).
Read the manual, see if u can find an answer.

1. It is normal. Every new MB in Canada has the low beam and DRL on all the time (but the dash light will switch on only at night)

2. It is strange for a new car. The moisture means that the seal of the headlamp assembly isn't perfect. But it will happen sooner or later anyways.

3. The light on my car will flash on both cases. But I believe you can change your setting somewhere.

Oh, so nothing major I guess :P Isn't it bad for the xenons though to stay on all the time? Is there a way that can be changed here in Canada? Any ideas? Secondly, as for the moisture, I will get the dealer to check it. I'm pretty sure it's something to do with the rubber stopper at the back of the housing where the bulbs go. It's probably not air-tight.

Lastly, I already have visible brake dust on my front rims. Is that normal? Thanks

Personally I don't mind the xenon stay on all the time, cuz it has 3000+ hr lifetime anyways. But it was a known issue that some early model bi-xenon on ML and E burnt out in early stage, due to some electrical issues.

After 800km on my new C, my front rims are much darker than my charcoal-painted HRE I had before. :p

xenons have longer lifes than halogen bulbs. so i dont think there is an issue with the DRL's. i havent had any problems with my BIX bulbs. the only problem i had was with the autoleveling in one light, the unit had to be replaced. that was about a year ago and everything has been cool since.

the front rims do get dark from brake dust.

don't know but the US c-class cars got the xenons turned off. people can put it back on by switching to the auto position. don't know why they don't do the same for the canada c-class cars.

Thanks for all the input guys! I was just wondering, however...for instance, to get into dyno mode and turn ESP off fully, you have to enter a "secret" command to access the car settings. Is there something similar for the xenons? Thanks

For example, can the service department use the star computer to de-activate the daytime running light feature if i request it?

Also, do the side blinkers come on? I noticed that my side blinkers don't come on (the ones on the bumpers)
