2005 C230 Headlight Issue

Hello everyone, thank you for any advice you can lend.

I have this 2005 C230 I'm having an issue with the right front headlight not working. Seems there is no fuse for the headlights. Can anyone point me in the right direction on how to fix?

I read something about the SAM unit, but that seems like quite the pain just to get the headlight working.

Thank you!

I agree that it is a pain to replace the front SAM to repair a non-working headlight. I had to replace my SAM when a turn signal stopped working. This link shows the tortuous process I followed to resolve my problem.

One other issue I encountered with my headlights was failing insulation on the wires inside the headlight. I recommend that you consider looking inside the headlight to determine whether any of your wiring has failed. You may have to remove the headlight from the car to get a good look inside which requires dropping the bumper.

Good luck.

If you never had the retrofitted sockets, this might be it.
