C230 1.8L Kompressor - Oil Control Valve

Hello everyone,

I am in the process of replacing the timing chain with the help of all your write ups and posts. The issue I have at the moment is I need to replace the Oil Control Valve on the exhaust side. It's broken and need a new one.

Does anyone have a procedure for how to replace it?

Any help would be appreciated.

I was referring to camshaft solenoid bolt, my mistake.

Anyways I got it figured out, I replaced the camshaft solenoid bolt on exhaust side, got new timing chain fed through and riveted in place, new tensioner, set both cams in proper firing order with cylinder 1 under compression in conjunction with the crankshaft at TDC.

The car fired right up and the rattle is completely gone.

I am not sure if I could have done it without all posts included on this forum. Cheers!

Or would the whole camshaft come out of place and out of alignment and all that ?? I just need to get out the ( oil control valve/cam bolt /vvt solenoid ) without having to do the most but if I have too do all that and get the kit i rather be safe then sorry lmk bro if you see this

If you look at my first picture in this post I used a DPTool I bought off amazon to lock both of my camshafts into place.

Unfortunately I ran into trouble and had to remove my timing chain completely for other reasons.

Then I loosened the big camshaft bolt on exhaust camshaft (oil control valve), I held the camshaft sprocket into place entire time by hand as I unscrewed the camshaft bolt, taken it out and reinstalled the new one.

Since both of my camshafts were locked up with my tool I didn't have to worry about them spinning.

Do you think I’ll be able to do it without the alignment tool the one you talkin about from Amazon or I’ll mess something up ?? Cause I just need to get the bolt out the rest of my cam is good
