ABS/ESP lights on and Cruise control works?

Couple of days ago ABS/ESP lights came on the dash. Checked the codes with Delphi and got a code C1310. Can’t remember correctly, but it had something to do with undervoltage. Cruise control still works.

Will STAR show more info? Any help is welcome.

Mercedes C-Class ABS pump and module failure will cause the ABS warning light to remain active. The most common fault code to be found when scanning the vehicle is C1310 – pump motor malfunction.

Hi ryan1g, I hope this will help. The C1310 code related to undervoltage in the ABS/ESP system could indicate several potential issues with the electrical system of your vehicle:
  1. Battery Condition: Often, a weak or failing battery can trigger undervoltage warnings in various vehicle systems, including the ABS/ESP. Ensure that your battery is in good condition, holding a charge, and is properly connected.
  2. Faulty Alternator: A malfunctioning alternator may not be providing sufficient power to recharge the battery or maintain voltage levels in the vehicle's electrical system. Have the alternator tested to ensure it's functioning correctly.
  3. Poor Electrical Connections: Loose or corroded connections, especially those related to the ABS/ESP system, can cause voltage irregularities. Check the connections to the ABS sensors, control modules, and related wiring for any signs of corrosion or damage.
  4. Faulty ABS Module: In some cases, the ABS control module might be malfunctioning, causing the undervoltage issue. Diagnosing this would typically require professional diagnostic tools to pinpoint the exact cause.
Since the cruise control is still functional, it might not be a severe issue affecting the vehicle's drivability, but addressing the underlying undervoltage problem is essential to prevent potential safety concerns related to the ABS/ESP systems. Using a diagnostic scanner like the Youcanic scanner is recommended to read additional fault codes and get more specific information about the problem. If you're unsure about diagnosing or fixing electrical issues, seeking help from a professional mechanic or a qualified technician would be advisable.
