Transmission problems.
Hi, I have a Mercedes Benz c320 4matic 2005. I have some problems with it. It’s a 5 speed automatic.
First it popped up the ABS light, and I drove like a week with that. Now it’s showing transmission problems. It is not changing gears, sometime it does but sometime you are stuck with the same gear all the way up, and then the check engine light comes on. Also when I put it in D, sometimes it makes a hard harsh noise (clunk)like the transmission hitting something and if that happens I know that it’s not going to change gears. What can it be?

a fluid flush on the tranny, but you can read those codes too instead of shooing in the dark. Even OBD will tell
you if you have P0705 I think it is, that tells you the shifter is bad. Lots of threads on that.
Control board goes bad. Only goes in 2nd gear and reverse. Or won't go at all.
People swear baking the board in your oven fixes it. Search and yee shall find, it's all here somewhere.
I've done mine twice now. Didn't know about the baking thing, and ended up scouring junkyards instead and
grabbed a spare even which I ended up needing.
