Traction Control Indicator - 2007 C280 4Matic
I searched through topics in this forum and didn’t find any on Traction Control Indicator lighting for the very first time since I’ve owned my 2007 C280 4MATIC (only 52,000 miles on it).
I should be upfront and say I know nothing about cars or the technical side of fixing them, but is this light coming on just a sign of slippage or should I be having something braking/wheels wise looked at by the mechanic?
Any thoughts? Thank you in advance and much apologies if it’s a duplicate question somewhere. I did try and look first. Have a great weekend all.

I assume your car (facelifted) works the same way as the pre-facelift models.
If the light is on solid, it means ESP is turned off (partially). That is controlled by the ESP on/off button above the radio.
If the light is blinking, that means the car is activating some aspect of the ESP system that moment, either by reducing engine power, or by braking an individual wheel. You should feel the pulsing of the ABS.
When the car has the ESP light on solid, it means the car will no longer reduce engine power, but will still brake the wheels. The only way to also disable the ABS portion is to switch on "dyno mode", which is explained elsewhere in the forum. No reason to do this during regular driving, unless one wants to do donuts or burnouts.
Everything here should be in the manual. There are links to the manual online out there if you don't have a paper copy.
