2003 C320 MOST loop

Hello, I apologize if this has been covered in another thread. Could someone post the items on the most loop? And the order they go in. I have the Bose audio system which recently stopped working. I just pulled my hu and confirmed there's a light coming from upstream which I believe is from the amp. Hu is also sending out a signal. I then looked at the cd changer which sends and receives. I have no idea what to check next as I can't find any documentation on what else is in the loop.thank you

MY2002-2004 uses D2B, which is the predecessor to MOST.

The D2B ring goes Radio -> Sound System -> Voice Recognition -> Phone -> Tele Aid -> CD Changer -> Radio. I assume the Bose stuff (amp?) is represented by "Sound System".

There should be no reason to mess with the fibre optic ring at all, as it would be currently configured correctly.

Try pulling the Bose amp (or wherever the fibre lines plug into) fuse, or unplug the amp and see if you can "reboot" it. Simply shutting the car off won't work as the components will simply be put in sleep mode. Otherwise you're looking at a new amp if the current one is cooked.

I believe this is the way to respond to you, unless there is a way to @ you. Thank you for your response I must of misunderstood my knowledge of the system was hastily built on YouTube videos and 10+ year old threads lol. I had understood that if any component went out on the loop the whole system would fail to respond, which is why I was pulling each component and checking the connections. My plan was to bypass the part if it wasn't my head unit or amp. I will try your advice, thank you

No worries, just continue the chat here. Might as well share the knowledge with the others.

Anecdotally I've had components (usually the CD changer) occasionally stop working, but everyone else in the loop (such as the phone) would still work. I found that the changer was simply passing the data down the loop without responding. A power reboot of the component would fix the issue.

If you want to bypass the Bose amp, pick up a splice connector from the dealership for a few bucks. PN should be A000-545-33-84. Pretty sure you can find these online too.
