C230 2006 went crazy after battery drain and jump start

Hi all!
After forgetting to turn off my lights and jump-starting my MB C230 2006, the car went crazy with inadequate RPM at idle and entered limp mode after 3-10 minutes of driving. Restarting temporarily fixes the issue, but after short time the problem arises again.

To summarize, here is what I got:

- Higher idle RPM than usual at idle
- "ESP Malfunction, Visit Workshop" and check engine light
- Car stuck in limp mode after few minutes of normal driving
- Bunch of rror codes arose: P2638, P2176, P0507, P0106.

I fully recharged the battery, but the problems persist.

Any advice on potential causes and solutions would be greatly appreciated!

How old is the battery? Get it tested.
LIkely you need a new battery.

Thank you for the response!

I replaced the battery with a brand-new one yesterday and cleaned the ECU codes.
Most of the codes are gone now. RPM at idle is still high (around 1800 rpm) and the only ECU code is P2176 -- Throttle Actuator A Control System - Idle position Not Learned.
I found a lot of info online on how to make the idle throttle relearn after battery replacement (you just turn on the car without starting the engine and wait for a minute), but it hasn't worked so far. Is there anything else to try? I feel like most likely ECU requires a proper reset.

Before battery replacement, I also got a code saying that the TCC solenoid may be damaged. This code is gone now but could the solenoid be a part of the problem? Are they getting bad after battery discharge/jumpstart?...

Thank you!!!

There's a thing I think its called 'throttle reset'.
I don't remember exactly something like you hold the pedal to the floor and turn the key to X position for 5 seconds, and then turn it off
and then wait 60 seconds. etc. Thats not exacty it. You should find it iff you be able to find it online,
people use it to get the transmission to reset the adapatations. Make the car quicker and get it out of granny mode
since the transmission is 'smart' and learns our driving style....supposedly.

Ah, here you go
1. Turn the ignition key to the on (not start) position.

2. Press the gas pedal to the floor and hold for five seconds.

3. With pedal still to the floor, Turn the key to the "off" position (don't remove the key), THEN release the gas pedal.

4. Wait at least two minutes for ECU to reset.

If that doesn't work....mmmm. You might need a new throttle, but if it worked before the battery went dead, it should still work.

BTW- Jumpstarting is NOT recommended and be sure the battery is disconnected from the car when charging.
I have used one of those battery jumpers , that seems to be ok.
Hooking the battery up backwards will blow you alternator or worse.
And how do I know this?
