Took delivery of a 2002 C Coupe today!!

Took delivery of a c coupe 6 speed with c7, c5, bose and
changer..

Already got coupe of questions...
My c7 sports shifter broke before I drive the car off the lot...
the plastic clip that holds the shifter down inside are gone...
Anyone else got this??? Is it that easily broken? Now I'm having
alot trouble putting the car into reverse... I'm getting a
new one soon, dealer couldn't give me one since both parts &
service are closed on sunday.

Front seats tilting foward... shouldn't it also lift up when you tilt
it forward?? I remember seeing that from the demo c230k I sat
in before.... I do only have manual seats...

Break in procedure... anything else I should do?? Other than
no full throttle and no excessive high speed?? The manual sounds like it's written for auto trannies..

Synthetics... How long should I keep the factory oil in the car
before switching to synthetics?? (Or is it already running syn??)
Some manufacturer put special oil to help the car breaking in....
and cannot switch to synthetics until few thousand miles..

Seats: Just lift and pull them forward with a little more of a snap than you have done. I think there is a spring that helps them.

Engine Oil: It is already using Mobil 1. Didn't you get a whole brochure about the Mobil 1 racecars?

MB coupe.
Congrats on your new car. I have just put 1600 km. on mine and enjoyed every minute.

Only the passenger seat has the tilt-up-and-forward feature, not the drivers side.

The car leaves the factory with synthetic oil.

Have fun.

What I've noticed about the seat tilt feature is that it depends on how far back the seat is to start with. It will only tilt to allow more rear exit room if the seat starts really close to the maximum full travel of the seat.

Yup... tried it this morning...
both seats would tilt and lift forward if it was far back enough..
(manual seats)
Very good design...

Now, I will need a replacement shifter soon... it's PIA to get it
into reverse..

Congrats on your car.

As to break in, don't worry about the speed, worry about the revs.

Keep it below 5k rpm during the break in period.

Don't pounce on the brakes for the first 600 miles.

Have fun
