I have a 2004 w203 .
i noticed that air recirculation works when i select heating but when i select cold settings and press the recirculation button.. the light on the button turns on but nothing happens...the flap doesn't work. I did an actuation test for the flap and it's fine.. i tried changing the controls whith another one.. and the problem stays the same..
anyone can help me figure it out

A bit of a long shot, but have you tried recalibrating the motors? Press and hold the (front) defrost and recirculation buttons until the yellow and orange lights start flashing. Give it a couple of minutes to cycle every motor, then turn off the ignition and wait another 2 minutes for the unit to lock in the calibration information.

The other possibility may be that there's something built into the controller logic, and that the system is actually working properly.
