slapping noise from engine when in gear
Hello, I have a Mercedes c320 w203 and it is making a strange noise when in gear load.
I have not had the timing chain changed yet, no major work done to it except LPG and some minor jobs such as ball joints , rotors and brake pads.
Since i bought it it had 135900 km and now it has 235500 and have no idea if the timing chain had been changed previously.
I have uploaded a video on youtube
and hope that someone could give me a hint on what dto do before a major damage.

Note the engine rpm and measure the frequency of the knock, with a program like audacity from the video. If it has the same frequency of the engine it is related to the crankshaft if it is half the frequency it is related to the camshaft.(or something driven by the chain)

Must think about it, but the camshaft rotates with half the engine speed in any case.
PS: A 4 cylinder has 2 ignitions on each revolution a 6 cylinder has 3, I would guess that a rod knock will appear on every revolution not only on the ignition stroke (?)
