can anyone reccommend a stereo upgrade for my c class as the audio 10 unit fitted as standard is very poor?

Do you have the CC or the CD version? Have you looked through the audio forum?

 

yes i have checked the forum but they all seem to be about full tv/dvd/cd xbox system.
all i want is to play my cds pretty loud and enjoy the drive.

 

In that case its up to you what you install. The best bet is for you to set a budget and talk to shops in your area. Suggestions and pricing vary across the country and you didn't indicate where you're located. I would also look at whats important and see if you can't locate magazine reviews, website reviews, etc.

 

ive been to 2 (audio shops/fitters) both of which seemed un-helpful, they also indicated it was a ***** to fit.
i hoped that someone had already fitted a system and could recommend a model number, i also wanted to know if they do speaker replacements or would a new head unit work ok with the exsisting speakers.
i dont want it to look like it was bolted on to a wood or plastic brick and would be compatable with the centre console,
i also wanted if possible a system that is compatable with the exsisting 6cd.

Compatibility is only with MB HUs. Most in the US enjoy Comand or the European Audio 10 CD as compared to the US HU version. Try and PM cliffybaby, member on here. He is in your neck of the woods and has done some audio mods.
