Cutout valve
Cutout valve
Hello, I was thinking of installing a Y on the exhaust of my 2000 w203 220 cdi.
I wanted to ask you if you know if this has any negative effect on the engine, not on performance, but on damage.
The idea would be to place it behind the catalyst and before the silencers.
To clarify a little it would be a cutout valve, to be able to listen to the engine without having to go with noise on long trips or in the city.
A greeting Any suggestion is appreciated.
Thanks.

I hear diesel pickups all day long where I live.
Almost as noisey as a Harley, and they are stock.
The sound is not pretty. I imagine the CDI wouldn't be any better.
