2005 C230 SS
Thumbs up WINTER DREAM EVENT?? Details...

I have seen commercials that state that MB will waive you first car payment during the Winter Dream event, but I do not see it anywhere on MBUSA.com??
I am crazy or have other people heard the same special?? And has anybody received that special??

I am in the process of negotiating for a C230 SS, here are the details:
MSRP $35,590
Lease for 39 months - 15,000 miles per year
putting $4,000 cash plus my $1,500 LMT coupon
Tier 2 credit class
= monthly payment??

The car will be arriving in a week or so and I have never had experience negotiating a lease. (I have bought all of my previous cars) Everytime I begin to talk figures with my car salesman he throws me off with a thousand different numbers.
I know that all I am negotiating for is the monthly price, so what ballpark number should I be sticking to?
Thanks for any help in advance....Happy Holidays...

I believe the "Winter Dream Event" applies to 4Matic models...more specifically the C240 4Matic. That's the only car they mentioned on the commercial when I saw it last night...I don't think they're doing it on the C230K SS.

if i recall correctly, a dealership in my area was offering a lease special on the 230 sport for either $329/month or $349/month (not sure) with about 4K down, but this was for a car with msrp of about 31K. you may also want to search the c-class forum for more info.

I think the first month's payment that is waived is part of your down payment. In a lease, you begin paying for the car as soon as you sign the contract (kind-of like an apartment where you pay your first month's rent before moving in.) If you look at the lease inception fees on the MBUSA website, you'll see that first month's payment = $0 and that leaves you with about $4000 down payment for Cap Reduction, etc.

also keep in mind that for that lease price, its only 10K miles a year.

That lease doesn't look so great. And it DOES apply to the C230K SS.

It applies ot the Kompressor as well as the 4 matic models. It's 4K down for 329 a month for 39 months exclusive of taxes. Add 70-80 per month for taxes...and you'll definitely get the car better than MSRP...

The lease rate is pretty good, but the sale price sucks. If you can negotiate the sale price down to about $32.5K on your car, and ask them to apply the same lease rate (.001) to the deal, you should be able to walk away with the same down payment and monthly payment as the promotion with your LMT coupon.

When leasing, don't ever let the salesman tell you that the sales price is not important. The sales price determines your monthly payments, while the MSRP determines the residual value.
