Drivers side DOOR won’t lock? Door regulator replaced
Drivers side DOOR won’t lock? Door regulator replaced
Good day All,
I recently had my driver side window regular replaced. Prior to that I could lock all 4 doors normally as things should work.
Now my window works with the used window regulator replacement installed.
But now I Cannot lock my drivers side door ??
When I press lock on the key thob or the dash, all 3 doors lock as normal But the driver side will not lock. I have a red Door open fault now on the dash that’s on all the time.
when pushing lock it looks like it is trying to go down, also why would the door open fault be on ? Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance.

Check the door module wiring. Guessing whoever worked on the door forgot to plug the cable back in. Or the cable may have been pinched at some point during the repair.
Is the module new or used?

Hey Slammer111
Thanks for your reply, its hard to tell if something is unplugged during the replacement of the window regulator from the shop, when i remove the door panel, its limited on what you can see, unless you start removing rivets etc, if i knew what the door lock actuator looked like and what wires go into it, then maybe i could tell if its unplugged somewheres or a pinched wire..
I can push the lock down free handed, and it seems just like the passenger side which is working, and that can only be done when the door is closed on the drivers side, you cannot push it down whilst the door is open. and because it goes down similar to the passenger side, i don't think i have a spring broken in the door actuator part..
i don't know, this doesn't make any sense to me, I mean what else would be causing it to not perform as it should, prior to having the window regulator replaced, and if the garage hooked it all back up, what would they have potentially missed for it to not allow the drivers side door not lock any more, with a door open fault on the dash..

The door module just has 1 cable with a connector (3-6 wires?) that plugs into the module just underneath the side mirror.
I'm also wondering if your door switch (the thing that tells the car the door is closed) is malfunctioning. Try tricking the car into thinking the door is closed by moving the module latch to the locked position and depressing the door switch (attached to the B pillar), and see if the module reacts properly.
