Talking More Power Please

Haveing some fun on the way to Ft Lauderdale, I'll need some more mods before posing a problem for a viper. lol ! I entered my C230K in the "Hot Imports Nights" car show in Ft Lauderdale Saterday. Finished in fith place "Hotest 2 dr Mild" class. Had a great time, the Broward Convention Center was packed. We were swamped with questions about the new coupe, for alot of people this was the first time they had seen one in person.

There was a total of over 300 cars, with 25 in my class. It was so loud at the end I'm not sure who the other winers were, I'm waiting for the printed results on there web site (http://www.hotimportnights.com), it was well after midnight before they announced the winners. I just wanted to go at that point.

I’m currently running 8.5 18” in the front and 9.5 18” in the rear with the lowering springs this was the max I could run and not have any clearance problems. I also added a brake upgrade to the front and rear. Here are a couple of pic’s so far.

Question rear brake upgrade

Does the rear brake upgrade retain the parking brake?

Yes, it does not alter the parking brake funtion. I used Brembo rear roters.

What is inexpensive on a Mercedes Benz lol! The suspension parts aren’t that bad. The forged rims are steep, but only weigh around 17 lbs each in 18” and look great. The brake kit was 995.00 per corner, but peeling your self out from under the dashboard after a hard stop priceless.

So to clarify a bit. What exactly does the brake upgrade consist of?

It looks like two piece rotors, 4 pot calipers, brackets, pads, and probably SS lines in the front. Does the rear also include two piece rotors with upgraded calipers? Or is it only a solid cross-drilled rotor to use with the stock caliper?

If you do get two piece rotors and 4 pot calipers all the way around, 1K a corner is actually a very good price.

The fronts and rear are both single piece rotors vented and cross drilled, All the calipers and brackets were changed, ss lines also.

I agree the price was not that bad, I will goto floating rotors on the front after I wear these out though.

I hope this works this time I have had a real problem posting.

Not much to see under the hood yet. I will post some next week
I'm installing the HID's (type II) from hid4less.com should have them on thursday. I also ordered a wood package from Germany will be in in 5 weeks. It replaces the Aluminum in the center consule, door pulls, Steering wheel, ac vents, and the recesses behind the door handles.

I added some pic's of the rear spoiler.

holy crap!
you are going to have the baddest (in a good/mean way - hey i'm hip ) coupe around!

i'm really interested in the hids you got - i tried to get more info from them but they never replied which made me nervous. i'd only get the Stage 1 hids. what do you get in the kit? does it replace the glass lens?

also, where did you get the info replacing the aluminum trim inside? do you have a link? i don't want wood but do they have some other materials?

thanks

ps i've never heard of renntech before (nor kleemann, brabus, lorinser - yes, i live under a rock ) but it looks good. not to nitpick, but i don't like the renntech logo on the spoke of the wheel and the P-zero in red on the tire. 17lbs? is that good? how much do AMG wheels weigh?

17 lbs is good AMG may be 35 lbs. The renntech stickers, I heard that each one adds 2mph top speed !! lol .. I will post some before and after pic's with the HID's and info on the install. I'm not sure what comes in the kit yet or placement of the ballest and tranformer but I will let you know how it went. The parts should be here on Thursday.

hey Randy can you post up some info about the pulley upgrade that Renntech has (since you are sponsored by Renntech ;-) I think many people will be interested:

(1) Price, Labor to install
(2) Power output number and your driver's comment

1. The price of the kit is 1755.00 including the ITG air filer. It takes 2 hrs to install. The latest dyno on the kit with exhaust was 224 hp and 250 ft/torque.
2. Driving impressions? First off the car sounds very sweet if you like the sound of the supercharger it’s much more pronounced. 1st gear is not that remarkable but you can fell it start pulling in 2nd, 3rd and 4th are my gears. The car is quick from 70 to 110 120. I had a chance to run with a Type R Integra I could easily pull away in that range.
3. 1/8 not to good yet (8.9 range high humidity 80’s ) I’m having problems launching too much wheel spin in first and second, I have to take the blame for that need to hone those skills.
4. One thing to keep in mind is that the computer is adaptive if you drive it hard it remembers and acts accordingly on the other hand if you baby the car and then want to make some hot runs it will be slower.

225hp 250lb/ft are very impressive. What are the output at the wheels? What kind of power loss factor you used in calculating? Do you have the dyno graph?

I assume you use a Renntech exhaust as well. is it just the muffler or full catback system? How much is it?

Yeah the C230K felt sluggish compared in 1st,2nd gear compared to 3rd,4th and even 5th.

I think with a good launch low 14's should be within reach
