Alram system
I just got a 2005 C230 sedan. So far the car is great. I have a question about the alarm system. Will the alarm sound if a window if broken or anyone tries to get into the car without openig a door?

US cars do not come with IMS sensors. You can always add one though like I have done. It works great if the windows are down. As soon as my hand enters about 5-10 inches, the alarm goes off.

Please give us more details on what exactly to order for parts from MB for this option to the alarm system for North American cars.
I am dying to get one and I would hate to butcher things up at an after market alarm shop.
My dealer dosn't know what I need.
If you have any information at all please post it for us.

You will need 4 parts. They are the IMS sensor color matched to your interior, the IMS bracket, the wire harness, and the new switch row. The switch row will replace your current switch row so you cna turn OFF IMS incase you have a pet in the car. I don't think it's essential. Version coding will be required also from the dealer. Installation will require partial removal of the headliner so you can get the cable in there. The cable ties into the front overhead control module behind the lights above. Search for interior motion sensor and there is more info there.
