Sport package???

Last year, here in my country (Portugal), MB offered a special sport package, with special interior and among other things sport suspension and sport brakes (front drilled discs), so I want to know if you guys in US have this package and if you know that I can put these discs on my coupe?

thanks

yes. stock coupe brakes are 11.x inches. you can fit the AMG 13.6" brakes up front on the coupe.
you do need 17" wheels though.

The brakes offered where not AMG, they look like stock but the front discs where drilled, all I want to know if some one have these discs from factory to see if they are the same size as the other ones from stock, if they fit, I will fit them in my coupe (a lot cheaper then them AMG brakes)

I dont think MB will offer AMG brakes in a C230K!!!

thanks

could be the 12.8" rotors like those found on the 04.5 W203 Sport Sedans. they are increased in size from stock, cross drilled, yet not AMG sized.

see this pic (the one with the three models) at MB site and do a zoom at the wheels of the limousine or station and see the brakes I'm talking:

http://www.mercedes.pt/amw/emb/pt/0,...-0-0-0,00.html

The brakes with the sport package where available for the three models (I think)

So, these brakes mybe bigger than the stock ones on the coupe!!! it would be great changing only de discs, but it looks like a bit impossible!!!

the 2005 model, C230 K sports Sedan and C55 AMG have the same size front rotors, which is 13.6" cross drilled, the only difference is C55 have 4-piston calipers instead of 2-piston in the 230k sports.

for the rear rotors, C55 is 11.8" 2-piston calipers, and c230k sports sedan uses 11.4 single piston calipers.

but on the sports coupe, the front rotors are only 11.8" single piston

all the C-sport sedan have 4-piston caliper up front. the sport brake is still slightly smaller in diameter than the C32/55 brakes.

2004.5 vs 2005?

I just came across the issue myself....

2005 SS with two piston front brakes

vs

2004.5 SS with four piston front brakes

I stand corrected. Guess they took the money saved from the caliper and give the 05 the AMG kit...

Even the single piston brakes stop pretty good, but four pistons are definitely better. Question, will the AMG four piston caliper fit over the 13.6 inch rotor on the 2005? It would make for an even cheaper brake upgrade than on my 03.

Question the emblium on the wheels.

I have the stock, non C7 package wheels. I noticed in the pics posted earlier in this thread by pokerface, that the MB wheel logo can be swapped to match the flat hood orniment. Is my observation correct or are they different wheels? If my observation is correct, can someone provide part numbers?

beavermjr, just go ask for Medallion centre caps.. they'll know which one you're referring to, as they were standard on R170's (not sure if it came with any other one)... C7 Evo rims had them too I think?

they are just center caps.
You can find them at MB Dealerships (parts dept). Just ask for them.
They have the regular MB star (chrome or silver), or the MB emblem (like the flat hood badge). They are all the same size on the newer C-Classes. They're all over eBay too, some are knock-offs though, so be careful.

mine came with the center caps with the star and the laurel wreath. i much prefer those over just the star. i wish the star on my steering wheel has the laurel wreath as well, like the R170 SLK's.

USA with Sport Paket

To answer your question, all USA model sport sedans (C230 and C320) have the Euro Sport Packet as standard equipment from MY04.5 onwards. This is optional in ROW. Since MY05 all USA model sport sedans have also AMG bodystyling standard equipment! Awesome car!
The brakes were originally Brembo 4 piston but switched to dual piston during MY05. Similar stopping power though and they still look cool.

It also looks like the 12.8" rotor. Sure it is an 05 or maybe it is an early model.

so which year(s) got the 4-piston calipers??? mine is a 2004.5 with the 4-pistons, but it doesn't seem that all of the 05's got it and not all prior to 04.5 go it either, what gives?
