Engine oil level displays

Has anyone here got erroneous oil level warnings from the multi function display? I just check mine using the standard method and it indicated "reduce oil level!" I then tried the more advanced method and it showed 8.0 quarts the exact amount a 500 should have. I'd appreciate any feedback.

Thanks

Had the same issue that you described and reduced the oil level by .3 quarts and all was fine. The way it was explained to me: The oil losts some of its viscosity and the screen on the sending unit allowed more of the thinner, hotter oil through thereby throwing off the measurement. This is supposed to get more noticeable the closer you get to your service. I know it really doesn't make a lot of sense but I haven't any issues for weeks now and my next service is coming up in a month.
