Audio Tone level

Is this a feature on the standard radios for the C240. It is described in the manual but I cannot access it. I was told it may only apply to the C320. Thanks for the help.

Do you mean the

Speed Sensitive Audio Setting?

Other systems refer to it as the GALA setting.

The speed sensitive audio setting will tell the radio to turn itself up or down depending on speed. It is set by the car's computer and must be adjusted by MB

i think he's referring to the volume of the beeps the car makes when you input a preset radio station, you leave a car door open, the parking brake on, etc.

i have no idea how to adjust it

I think somebody mentioned last year how to change this without going to the dealer. It was a complicated push of several buttons on the radio in a sequence. Anybody else remember this ?

On the 230 when you adjust the tone, balance etc I believe there was a setting called EX? Hit the button below that and it brings up Driver, Speech etc. It's pouring rain here right now, but I'll double check later. It was simple to get to, once you know where it is (isn't that aways the way)

This can be done on the Bose system but not the base system on any W-203.

Ah, finally the right and simple answer! You can only adjust bass and treble with the standard C240 radio. This is accessed by pressing the "AUD" soft key below the radio display. (BTW, Bose is standard on the C320).

Do you guys read these posts or just provide any old answer ? The original question was a bit on the vague side, but turning this into volume of beeps when setting radio stations, leaving key in ignition? Gimme some of what you're smokin'! (just kidding)

Sorry if the original question was somewhat vague, but I now have the answer, audio tone level is only on the Bose system. Thanks for the help.
