Any good or hard info as to the W204?

More specifically, when is it supposed to arrive? I searched here and see old speculation and conjecture, but not much more. As I am contemplating a C350 this summer, I'd like to get at least 2 years out of it as a "current" model plus one or so more after the new one is out so the bugs can be worked out. In this regard MB seems to be like BMW, i.e. stay away from the first year's disasters!

W204s will be out for 2007. You will get about a year and a half with your 2006 C350. Don't wait, buy your car now. If the W204s look that much better when they come out, simply change cars.

Seriously, don't wait. If you want a C350, get one when it comes out soon and enjoy it. You don't know what the next body style will look like, and if you do like it, a few years into it they get refreshed and become even better (look at the 05 sport sedan).

W204 is shaping up to be a very unattractive car.

Have you seen any decent pics? Don't tell me MB is going down BMW's road-- ugly and misshapen monstrosities. Ugh....

Just saw the new 3-series at the auto show in NYC. looks much better in person, but it is abit more conservative looking. I think the C-class sport sedans look more aggressive, but the 330i isn't a bad looking car either. I really like the Volvo S60R though. might wanna take a look at that plus you get the convenience of AWD.

that gets me. Not as bad as absolutely ghastly 5 series interior, but by no means attractive--and I'm on my 4th BMW, a 2002 530 sport. Without Nav, the dash is stark. With Nav, its a bit more interesting, but infested with the ever unpopular iDrive.
So far, I am leaning towards an '06 C350 in pewter or black w/ the stone interior.
I never really considered a Volvo. Never cared for the way they drive or look, even the new ones.
Still, I look forward to whenever the 350 finally shows up. Power in the 320 was "OK" at most. It certainly needs the boost!

i also saw the new 3series at the 05ny auto show, looks good outside, but the interior is ugly, too plain looking, very cheap as usual, just take a look at the flat dash! the 5 series is much better imo. if i were to pit the new 3 with the current C, given that they are the same model/generation, id still go with the current C.

I did ask the people at MBUSA at the NYIAS about the new engines, they couldnt give me any solid info on the w204 yet though. However they said the 230 will be replaced with a 230something hp V6 as the 280. They had the 2006 SLK 280 there also. Thats all I got!
