I just read an article on MB diesels coming to the U.S. by 2008 (or whenever all 50 states will have ultra low sulfur), only mentioned ML, GL, E and R classes. No mention of w204s with diesels here.

W204 diesel?
Having driven an E-Class Bluetec, I would order the diesel but cannot. MY guess is that MBUSA thinks that a C Bluetec would take sales away for the E Bluetec. And, they are right.
I placed a deposit on a W204 in January (they cannot be ordered yet since we don't get them until September) thinking I would order a C350 Luxury (or Elegance, who knows what it will be called) and now MBUSA says that model gets the 3.0 228HP baby sister engine. If I want the 3.5, I have to order the boy-racer Sport version with it's aluminum interior trim which I hate. And I would be stuck with a black or gray interior.
It's going to be the new Metallic Red with the Cashmere Beige full leather interior but this knuckleheaded decision by MBUSA to put in the wrong engine may be a deal breaker.

Seems like they will only provide the Bluetech in the E-Class Models in the US. On the C-Class models is alright but I was hoping for S-Class. diesel was well...
