2002 C230 Coupe
When the first w204 pictures (photoshopped) were getting posted, the German magazine Auto Bild had a story on the next C-class platform. I can't find the story on their site now, but the story mentioned maintaining the C-class coupe for Europe, but it wouldn't get any of the w204 updates. They were just carrying over a good-selling car they couldn't justify killing. The article also mentioned there would no longer be an AMG version of the coupe.
This picture (if it's real, and I'm happy believing it is) seems to indicate just that strategy. It may also be that this coupe is never sold in North America.
I agree with Wingless that MB-USA has no interest in the car. But, as evidenced by this thread, there are many who would prefer to drive the coupe than the sedan, just as there are many who prefer the sedan over the coupe. Currently, MB really doesn't offer anything like the coupe for those of us who do prefer that car.

I absolutely would not buy the car if it came out like this.
Its silly to buy a car with the same chasis and then just update the front and rear fascia.
Reminds me of the old Mustang days approx 81-mid 90s.
They had the same chasis, and then just changed the interior panels a bit, and the front and rear fascia. Always made me laugh.

No significant changes are apparent to me. Don't know why MB had to "mask" the test vehicle since most people would probably assume it is just the existing coupe.

here's another reason I would not buy the new ?204? C-Coupé...
in the September 2006 issue of Mercedes-Benz Enthusiast (UK),
there was a short article titled: "BRAZIL BOUND"

If it is a photoshop job, it's a damn good one. You can see the interior is the same as the 203. I doubt MB would release it with the same interior.

The real sad part of this story is that you even own one. You do know what your car looks like, right?
THe car in the photos is hopefully just a test mule. The W204 nose on the CL203 looks horrible. I would have left the face alone...the old coupe was/is stunning from the front. Its the rear that's always been controversial.
BTW, I have these same rims on my car right now. They work great for snows, and they clog less than the C7's or other open spoke rims.

totally agree with u!!! CL203 looks the best!! just the rear looks weird...

Mercedes Coupe segment begins with CLK . It is real coupe not sportcoupe !. C Sportcoupe is real hatchback not coupe. Coupe has not B pillar. CLK is more luxery car and rear view is great. Sportcoupe yes handling good . But it is not good looking from every angle especially rear .

As for the CLK, I like it, but in anything other than the CLK-DTM trim the car doesn't excite me. And then there's that stupid automatic...probably even got the indecisive crapmatic 7 speed in there now.

- LORINSER Roof Wing

no way I'm buying that new C Coupé.... love mine way too much, and hopefully once Affalterbach's Performance Studio approves the C32 C-Coupé upgrade and gives me a way-ahead, there's now way I'm trading it in for anything.

however, I was always a fan of the W201 (190E) & W202 (C-Classes) and when the W203 came out, I do not remember so much HATE as now for the W204. The W203 unveiling was actually quite positive and people liked the new sportiness upgrade replacing the sometimes "boxy" W201/W202 models.
Although I love the 190E EVO I/II, C36, & C43... the W203 was a breath of fresh air. The W204 is just leaving a bad taste in everyone's mouth, and no one has even taken a bite yet.
If anything I'm working my way backwards down the Mercedes-Benz timeline.
The Classics are what do it for me, and unless it's a new ////AMG SL or G-Wagen, it will be a long while before I step up to one MB's new fused Acura/Hyundai/Kia/Lexus wanna-be designs.

i actually like the back of the coupe more than the front. the front is too short in height IMO, that's why brabus lip is good for coupe becuz it breaks away that "short height" at the front end.

Carlos, do you have pics up of your EVO II anywhere? I loved these cars as a kid. I find myself often searching for one for sale....although, my wife would likely kill me if I bought another car. My sig is out of date.
And frankly, what would you rather talk about, that ugly *** W204, and the abomination they are going to make from our glorious CL203, or a cool 20 year old 190 with a crazy *** wing?
