W204 Wagon in North America ?????
Spied: Uncovered Mercedes C-Class Estate/Wagon
07/27/07, 03:30pm, EDT
Spy photographers have managed to snap a couple of photos of the finished version of Mercedes-Benz's upcoming C-Class Estate. The car is expected to be introduced this fall and North American sales are likely.
We can see that Mercedes has translated a slightly different design language into the rear end of the wagon variant of its C-Class sedan. We expect the C-Class Estate's power options to nearly mirror the sedan's, although likely fewer configurations will be offered in North America than in the sedan.

Sorry, but I have the opposite opinion - I doubt very seriously that the W204 C wagon will be offered in the US market.
-I've asked and the answer has been "no".
-The W203 wagon was not considered a "success" here - notwithstanding the fact that I wished I had bought one instead of our sedan.
-The new "GLK" crossover, based on the C architecture, and designed to compete with the X3, is headed our way and is presumed to obviate the need for the C wagon in our market.
If you have a source at MBUSA that says otherwise, I would love to be proven wrong - but there is a bias in the marketing dept in Montvale that the market won't support the volumes that the dealers want for this car. No soup for us....
PS - We have a W204 C300 Lux coming off the first dealer shipment - should be here by the second week of August. I'll post more when we have the car in hand. [White, BlkTex, P1, Automatic - MSRP about $35k].

The real question is whether or not MB wants to try and take a slice out of Audi and BMW's "wagon" sales. I can't see enough demand here in the US for a C wagon to justify the car being imported.
Especially with the GLK being talked about.
