Angry C350 problem . . . .

My bud bought the C350 in Albuquerque and has had his car back three separate times for the same problem: Loud, with complete 100% demonstrativeness, noise coming from the rear. Possibly the brakes???? Dealership claims it's the parking brake. They've attempted to repair this vehicle . . shaving down the pads; adjusting rotors; etc. . . . . and no fix. He absolutely feels unsafe in this car and his mother refuses to ride in it. The good news is that my friend is a prosecuting attorney. CSI, watch out! JD Powers . . . will have reason to continue forward with the reliability issues MB is unfortunately now associated with. This guy paid full MSRP to be part of an experiment? Can Albuquerque spell "unwind?"

Albuquerque MB seems to be returning to the "parts bin" in an attempt to fix this vehicle. In the meantime, my friend has handed the keys back to the service department THREE separate times. I really do not think they know whom they are dealing with here. This guy has the ear of the state governor!

As a footnote, I have the same car, with the P2 package . . . runs perfectly - no loud noise whatsoever. Pete

Sounds like they should lift the car, run the gears and scope to see where the sound is actually coming from.

Sorry to hear that. I would not be a happy camper to say the least. On a better note, congrats on being the first to start a W204 problem thread!

Unfortunately, "ish" is bound to happen when you buy a first year car, of any make.

I think there should be a sitcky "W204 problem" thread. Would make for a great way of tracking issues for this particular generation.

Black Bimmer
After the third visits to the dealer for same issue, then just lemon it. Either has dealer buy it back or another brand new C350. Good luck

But I am still learning to spell Albuquerque!

I have the ear of the Governor too, but I doubt I'd take up a noise in my rear end with with him. I'd save that call for after I "throttled" the service manager.

Smile Resolve on C350 issue:

Footnote: My friend who had the brake problem in Albuquerque seems to have had his problem fully resolved. The service department, on the third try, finally ordered a completely new parking brake assembly. It was installed on Friday afternoon . . . thus far the problem is completely solved.

Again, separately, my C350 has more than 1000 miles on it. . . it's perfect. Really a wonderful car. I'm only now taking it out of "comfort" mode and into "sport." Break in period is completed, I believe. Most pleased.
