I got a lot more than that off MSRP for mine.

But since I haven't yet taken delivery of the vehicle (i.e. haven't yet driven off the lot), only time will tell whether this deal is truly good. The dealer might screw me at the last minute after all.

I'll update (w/ pics) when and IF I get the car in late January.

There's a thread here where people have discussed how much they've paid for their new C Class.

https://mbworld.org/forums/showthread.php?t=206967

From what I've read, most people have received about $2000 off MSRP for their car on average.

$2110 off MSRP, Fletcher Jones Fremont. Fletcher Jones do their sales by volume with small profit. Salesman told me the first shipment of cars or the ones in the lot now are from Germany, next shipment in Jan 2008 will be from South Africa. I saw it mentioned somewhere in the forum too.

visited a dealership over the weekend. The dealer I spoke to told me that the cars are only port from South Africa but build in germany. This makes no sense to me....

Would the south africa built car have different starting letter on the VIN?

ex, german built will have W and south africa would have ??

Yes the South African cars should have a different VIN number. The Mercedes built in the USA all have a different number too.

So what are your guys opinion on the South African built cars?
Do you see no issue in getting one of those? Sorta wanted my Mercedes Benz to come from Germany. I have one marked for me coming in early February, and now that I hear I this I imagine it is from South Africa too.

Ok, asked dealer. She claimed all C-classes for the U.S. are now coming from South Africa, don't know if that is true, but that is what she said.

Any idea how Mercedes Benz does this? Do they manufacture the parts in South Africa too, or do they ship a lot of those from Germany to South Africa?

I just got my C that arrived to the dealership last week. It is form Germany.

When the salesperson showed me the MB inventory system when I picked mine, all the cars stated specifically where they come from. There were three cars exactly my specs and I was able to pick the one from Germany.

Question on leases -

What are the extra fees you typically see on leases?

What is MB acquisition fee usually? $795? Do they roll that into the total lease financing, or require you pay that separately up front?

Of course I know about registration/title, so that is given.

Is there any other surpriser on a lease besides those? I understand sales tax is on the down payment and monthly payment, so prepared for that.

Just want to make sure I'm not forgetting a fee of some kind!

That was exactually the car what we were looking for. However, when I talked to the salesman who I got my SLK from. He can only lower 1.5K for us.

I think that's the greatest deal that I have seen.

Anyway, we got a 328XI coupe instead.

How much are people paying now?
I've gotten written agreements for $800 over invoice on the C300 or C350
It seems that a lot of dealers are slow right now and need to boost sales.

January is typically a slow month for car sales. Should be able to work good deals right now. Besides, the competition is lowering prices and offering good financing rates like 0% on 60mo or 1.9% on 72mo.

MB dealers seem to be hit or miss, i went to the one on Cherry Hill NJ. The sales person there, who actually was a friend of my family, acted like it was the hottest car in the last 10 years. he told me he would only give me $500 off because he knew me, this was the end of October, and believe it or not, he hasn't changed his tune yet. its crazy. not to mention he kept rubbing it in my face, that they wouldn't give me a loaner when i was in for service unless i bought from that dealership. i don't know about the rest of you, when i finally pull the trigger on a deal for a C-class i expect 2000-2500 off msrp period.

I am looking for a c300 luxury w/ p1, pano (white/beige) I think invoice on it is $32,500...do you think I could get it for around that? +300 maybe?

I am in Nashville, TN...if anybody got a deal close to that anywhere in TN, or even in AR, MO, IL, IN, KY, VA, NC, SC, GA, AL, or MS...I am willing to drive over there to get the car (all the mid-points of those states are within an 8hr driving distance. I figure that's better than spending hours talking to all the dealers around here and not knowing when I am finally going to get a car.

I appreciate any input, thanks!
