E550 4MATIC
Officially, I ordered this car from Chicago while on vacation this weekend and the dealer didn't lie to me like the last one so I went through with it.
Specs:
C350 Sport
AMG 18" wheels
Panoramic Roof
Black Leather
Black exterior
Multimedia Package
P2 Package (Bi-Xenons)
Illuminated Door Sills (installation given free)
Chrome Door handles
All in all came to $45975 which, I got $300 taken off MSRP and thats all they would budge. Taxes will be another 6% so I'm at $49k US
Some say I should have gone with the E, but this being brand new to the streets, killer look, and really every option I want and need (except cooled seats) this is the perfect choice for me.

Also just to confirm and support your decision, you can't even get cooled seats on an E350, you would need to get an E550 or E63 AMG to get this option.

2008 C350 Black/Black Leather, P2, 18" AMG, Pano, illuminated door sills, chrome handles, long wait
Thanks Guys,
Yup, the dealer I worked with was 'Mercedes Benz of Chicago' my sales guy was Lanny S. Oh another reason for the C is the size. The E can feel a little bulky to me and the C feels more connected. The S550 feels more connected than the E, but the S is almost 2x the cost.
We're all praying September goes fast, its hilarious.

By sending this to about 20 dealers, I got one dealer tonight to order me the 2008 c350 sport with the specs below for only $42,000 even out the door, TTL included. Pretty stoked on the deal... Only catch is, they said it probably wont be here until november.(see what I sent below. worked for me and got me what I think is the best deal yet. got it in writing too) (I got about over $5000 off total including TTL.):
---------------------------------
Hello. Email offers only. Please do not call. Please do not negotiate. Only will accept invoice with tax and tags. If called I will not deal with dealership. If emailed anything other than invoice I will not deal with dealership. (See requested build below). (oh and the salesguy said he wouldnt make a dime off this price and only the dealership would, so I slipped him a $100 bill and got him to get managment on my side)
2008 C350 Sport
Exterior Color: Arctic White
Interior Color: Grey/Black (Non-Leather)
Wood Trims: Black Birdseye Maple
Options:
Panorama Sunroof
18" AMG 5-Twin-Spoke Wheels
Packages:
P2: Premium II
Multimedia Package
MSRP: $43575.00
My offer based on true invoice price is $42,000 OTD
I can wait till OCT/NOV if this car in my requested specification has to be ordered.
Thank You for condsideration.
Let me know how you would like to proceed.
Thanks,

'08 C300 Sport White w/ P2 MM & Pano
I'm paying 38,300 for the following:
C300
Auto
Arctic White
MB Tex
P2 Package
Multimedia Package
Panoramic Sunroof
MSRP is 40,115, and according to carsdirect, invoice is around 37,800 (don't know how accurate that is) but I would say I got a pretty good deal.

I got a great deal on mine
C350
Obsidian Black / Black MBTex
P2 Package
18" AMG Rims
Got the car for $38,335
Without tax and license of course
My salesperson really worked hard for me.
To make the long story short we went by the dealer to test drive the new C and left without buying cause of price. So he calls me the next day like five times to try to work out a deal original price was $41,305 and I got him down to $38,335 I think we got a great deal.

Some of you are hilarious with your searching & e-mailing all over the place…waiting months on end etc... Driving 200, 300…..800 miles to save $300.00 insane…. It was worth the $300 I didn’t save to be the first in town with a new W204…. Hell I think I spill $300.00 a day Lol I know I don’t have the time to dicker over the price for an Automobile I’m going to **cough** write-off next year anyway. Also what gets me weaker is some of you, I’m not pointing any fingers… but some of you that weasel the dealer down to his last pair of sox on the price are the ones so… worried about the resale value on these cars. Why don’t you think about it for a second, some of you characters are the very ones that sap any resale that could have been had right out of the cars.
In short I used to support my family on a “car salesman’s” wage, when a car salesman does his job well.. I.e. Locating, Demo, working with and around your tight-wad @&& for weeks on end, coming in on days off when one could be with his/ her family etc.. and if that car is delivered without a scratch and is thoroughly gone over and explained. They deserve a commission, as that’s all they will make. If you’ve never done the job you have no clue of what the “military-esq” environment is like.

Could you shed some light on this btw, I really don't know all the details of how it works. But I understand the lower they sell the car for, the less comission the sales person gets.

New to the boards and happy to say we just put in an order for my wife's new C350 Sport. She had her heart set on a new BMW 5-Series to replace her 01' 525 but decided to jump ship after the recent horrible side impact test results the Bimmer had.
The breakdown:
C350 Sport
Black on Black
P2 Pkg (Bi-Xenons)
MM Pkg (Navigation)
MSRP = $41,575
Paid = $40,219 ($1,356 below MSRP - No Haggling)
[not including tax & licensing fees]
Not the best but not bad and no stress involved. TIP: Costco members get a decent no haggle price. This was our 2nd automobile purchase thru Costco, worked out the 1st time as well.
Build starts in October, expected delivery is early December

Anyway, good luck on the new 350. My sister has a 545i and today I went to Mercedes with her yesterday to look and test drive the New C350. I liked the C350's design. IT AIN'T NO 5 Series (Not in its class) but in comparison to the 335i, the C350 does hold its own weight; design-wise. There is a 2-3 design elements externally Mercedes and BMW share in common.
Now I am going to be a little ... This C350 is for the wife correct? Good, cause you might look a little sexy (Feminine) in it. Just pick the right color if it's for you and you'll be fine.

The bridge comment was uncalled for but i did have a good look at the 5's center console/armrest. I really can picture it being a little more hazardous to the driver than the other cars. Yes the C350 is for my wife, the 01' 525 was picked out mainly for its best in class safety at the time. I think BMW slipped a notch with the new 5-Series, it took a couple of years for us to even like its looks (shouldnt have had to) but once the side impact tests came out it dropped off the list. Do you really believe I'm the only one that believes the side impact test report? With all the fricken drivers these days and their cell phones strapped to their ear (get a damn BT at least), we should all pay attention to modern day test results. Just my opinion.

Hmm why did you need to pay extra for a cd player with the P2 package? The P2 package has the multimedia package right? So that already includes the cd player.

What do you guys think about MB's pricing of the new C-Class? Do you think it is fair and good value for the money?

Absolultely. The car is actually cheaper than the outgoing C-Class. We also pay the least for these cars in the world. The same car would be much more in Europe. Also keep in mind that since the W202 C-Class came out almost 14 years ago, the base price has remained virtually unchanged.
