It looks like an acura, gets worse mileage than ever before, has a pretty disappointing interior, and oh, even though it costs 40K, its not all that quick.

I think the magazine is . They got they're numbers completely wrong, a 335i Dynos in at 290RWHP! Thats more than the C350's CRANK hp. Not only that, a 335i does a 1/4 mile in mid 13s, a few tenths from E46 M3 1/4 times.

The C350's 1/4 mile time is a tenth quicker than my 1.8t. And I know for a fact that a 335i is MUCH faster than that having raced one and being completely annihilated.

The 335 is a wolf in sheeps clothing.

A strong stock 335 will dyno @ 285 to 275whp & 300ft/lb. But the dyno does not tell the story of the 335. The 335 is very quick from 0-60, 1/4 & 60-130mph. Not to mention the great handling. On the road it scoots. Period.

The C350 does not have a chance.

Plus, if you add $600-1000 in mods to the 335, the hp/tq and performance numbers change drastically. $600= 330 whp/360 ft lbs- 0-60 in 4.8 1/4 in high 12's low 13's and a 60-130 in 12-13 seconds. Which would give a E63 a run for its money.

Add another $1000-2000 and you have a monster.

It's All About Power

Let's get the numbers out of the way. In a sprint, the 300-hp BMW outpaces the 268-hp Mercedes by 1.2 seconds to 60 mph and 0.9 second in the quarter-mile. The true display of the BMW's horsepower advantage, however, lies in its trap speed at the end of 1,320 feet, and the 335i has a 6.5-mph advantage. Each car has an automatic transmission (a six-speed in the BMW and a seven-speed in the Mercedes) that upshifts with the crispness and sophistication you'd expect, and each offers Drive, Sport and Manual modes.
