Wood kit

Has anyone heard of a wood kit to cover/replace the aluminum trim pieces in the 300 sport?

I haven't heard of one, but I would love to know. If I get a C300, that is the first thing to go.

I haven't heard of one. That trim is a BIG reason why I went with the 350. I don't like the look of it at all.

Although some on here do like it. I guess it is just a matter of personal preference.

In Canada, swapping the alum trim with maple wood trim is a NC option for both C300 and C350, RWD and AWD.

Maybe we should ask: why Canada gets all these nice options (memory seats, keyless go, trim swaps, C350 AWD) that US can only envy?

Why do you keep making these smug comments about Canada getting more options than we do?

Canada vs....

<<Why do you keep making these smug comments about Canada getting more options than we do?>>

My incoming C300 with Metallic, leather, P2 and Multimedia will cost $41635. What would the cost in Canada be?

He'll gladly bring up the USD exchange rate against the euro due to our oil wars no doubt.

I think it is clear that you can get more stuff in Canada for the W204 then here...I'd go buy one up there if I could. Problem is I live about 2000 miles from the closest Canadian MB dealership and prefer football to hockey, eh?

I did a quick calculation, it says that it would be about $49,000 Canadian. That is equivalent back to about $47,000 USD.

Wow...seems pretty high. I assume that is why Canada is getting additional standard features.

Canadian cars and their costs

<<I did a quick calculation, it says that it would be about $49,000 Canadian. That is equivalent back to about $47,000 USD.>>

Which is precisely why I posted the cost $41635 cost of my car and asked the question. So, when the Canucks yell over the border fence (nyah nyah nyah) that their version of the C is so much better, I would say "You paid for it." Ay?

Right, I went to the Canadian site and configured one with the options you posted. And then calculated what that was in USD. So they are definately paying more for the cars than we are.

Did you have some other options on your C300, because when I try to configure a US model with these options you have it comes to less than the price you posted?

C300 sticker price

<<Did you have some other options on your C300, because when I try to configure a US model with these options you have it comes to less than the price you posted?>>

Nope. Pretty standard.

C300W $31200
Barolo Red $710
Savannah/Cashmere leather $1550
P2 package $2750
Luxury sedan (phony charge) $260
Multimedia $2950
Auto trans $1440
Delivery $775

Total $41635

They list the Luxury charge, the auto trans charge and delivery separately so that the base price can be $31200 instead of the real base price of $33675. Very dishonest, in my opinion.

The final price will be somewhere around $45500 including tax and license.

Minus my trade-in, my $1K deposit and the $900 pro-rated refund of my unused MB extended warranty.

Aluminum to wood

<<Has anyone heard of a wood kit to cover/replace the aluminum trim pieces in the 300 sport?>>

All of the wood trim parts will be available as spare parts at a price. No question they will directly interchange if one knows how to remove the originals.

Sounds desirable but very pricey.

Oh ok, I configured a sport sedan, that explains the price difference.

Ok, new calculation. Your $41,635 car would cost $51,590 in Canada with the same exact options. Which equals at today's exchange rate $49,952. Well I guess for almost $10K more, they can have their memory seats and keyless go!

Assuming that conversion is true...I'm with you. Add TT&L to that and you might as well suck it up and go E Class for that.

I wouldn't get an e class now because they're changing body types soon, plus, with options that quickly gets to 60-65k.

You also have to remember, Canada has a higher minimum wage, higher paying jobs in general, and our dollar is sliding fast. There are several reasons.

Sure there are many reasons and you are absolutely right on the E Class. I was just gawking at the price in USD for the same car in Canada.
